Surprised and very pleased with the location, room and breakfast at this lovely hotel
Pros:

This place exceeded my expectations so much that I wanted to extend my stay. Didn't, sadly, but I'll be back. The hotel is just inside the old city wall. The unassuming lobby on a small street opens up to a beautiful series of interior courtyards, rooms tucked here and there in private hallways, gorgeous plantings everywhere. The receptionist sent a very nice man with me to find my room and show the features of the property, including 24-hour free water taps (still or sparkling) with carafes to take to your room. We reached my assigned room, which a previous lout had smoked in despite no smoking rules, and they immediately with no fuss moved me to a new and larger room. The rooms have air conditioning, a mini-bar, and nice bathrooms with Bigelow toiletries. All clean and well-maintained. It is a historic collection of buildings, so it's not brand new, but if that's what you wanted, you'd be at a chain hotel outside the centre. Breakfast is a robust buffet in a gorgeous glassed-in breakfast room between two courtyards. You can eat inside, or outside among the palm and pomegranate trees. The buffet has bacon and eggs for the British, cold cuts and rolls for the Germans, cakes and pastries for the Italians, fresh fruit, and made to order and delivered to table coffees, including cappuccini. I slept well, the shower was great, but it was the breakfast table in the garden that I couldn't tear myself away from. Oh, I also reserved an indoor parking spot, which was on the same block as the hotel. It appeared to be a former stable, with vaulted and tiled ceilings. Even my car (with attached bike rack and two bikes) thus spent a very pleasant night at Hotel San Mamolo. There are two appealing-looking restaurants in the same block. I didn't try them and ended up with a sub-par dinner elsewhere. I'm sure I could have gotten good dining advice had I only asked.

In general very good stay, walking distance to everything yet far from city noise. Many good restaurants around.
Pros:

The location is great, appx 15 min walk to the city centre, very quiet and calm neighbourhood. Close to the hotel are few restaurants with very high scores. The inner yard and breakfast room is very cozy, lots of trees.

Cons:

The parking is very expensive - 25 euro per night. The room was very basic but clean. Could be more cozy, on the pictures it was nicer…

Very good location in the city center, situated in old buildings with a small garden. Clean interior and spacious room, helpful staff.

Cons:

The breakfast room is a bit small for the amount of guests, the variety of the food and drinks could also be improved. If you come by car, be ready to give your keys to the hotel staff, because there are multiple garages under old buildings and a valet driver has to move the cars eventually.

Pros:

Sehr nette, saubere Unterkunft in der Nähe des Zentrums, das sehr gut zu Fuß erreichbar ist. Anreise mit dem PKW ist kein Problem, da eine Garage vor Ort verfügbar ist.
Der Frühstücksberreich ist eine Orangerie im inneren des Hofes, welche die hektische Stadt vergessen lässt und einen tollen Start in den Tag ermöglicht

La situation est vraiment appréciable pour rejoindre le centre de Bologne. Un hébergement adapté pour profiter de la tranquillité et du petite jardin extraordinaire, et appréciable en période de canicule.

Cons:

Une petite table en plus dans la chambre serait la bienvenue.

Ruhig gelegen - kein Verkehr hörbar

Cons:

Das Hotel hat die besten Zeiten hinter sich. Ausstattung und Komfort sind alles, aber keine 4 Sterne.
Die Zimmerwände sind aus Papier wir konnten unseren Nachbarn bis spät in die Nacht bei allem akustisch begleiten, was er gerade so gemacht hat. An Schlaf war nicht zu denken…
