Not much to dislike here. We did arrive about 30 mins early for check in and found it strange that the check in desk was closed and no one was there until the official opening time. Parking is also limited but convenient if you're able to secure a spot.

This has to be one of the most disappointing “hotels” I’ve ever come across. When I booked this 9 months ago for £197 per night there was a restaurant and bar advertised. Coming off a 28km hike I didn’t expect to be told that there was neither. This should have been communicated before my stay to give me the option to book elsewhere which I would have done. This is no more than a B&B without the personal touch of a family run concern.

Perhaps I should have looked at the reviews nearer the time of the stay as they all back up this review. It is clear that no work or upkeep is being done which reflects that a google review says the owners have been trying to sell.

The information on the “hotel” continues to display photographs of a restaurant, bar and food. None of which exists.

The price per night is now being advertised nearer the £110 mark. Would have been good if Booking.com made good the difference and provide a refund

The bar was closed. For £125 per night, I would certainly have expected the bar to be open… apparently it has been closed all year, no mention of this prior to booking. Very annoying and puts this establishment as overpriced for what you get.

The cleaner did not change bed sheets or even empty our bin in the room.

Very outdated. Bed was uncomfortable. The breakfast was cold and not fresh.

Kalt- und Warmwasser am Waschbecken separat (sehr oft in Hotels) und in der Dusche (Badewanne) musste man das Wasser öfter beim duschen einstellen.
Schade dass die Bar/ das Restaurant nur diesem Zeitraum noch nicht geöffnet hatte - aber wir haben das Kaminzimmer für gemeinsame Spiele im abendlichen Zeitraum genutzt.

On arrival we discovered that breakfast did not start until 0800 and we could not get an earlier time as we had to leave for an appointment in Inverness before 0800. We were then told that there was no evening meal because the restaurant was closed. The bar was also closed despite it being stated in booking.com that it would be open on 31 May 2026. When I asked the receptionist if the hotel was actually open she thought I was joking - I wasn't. When I pointed out the lack of bar and restaurant facilities she said that Booking.com had been informed. I showed her the information that I had been sent and her only reaction was that she would bring Booking.com up to date. The hotel appears to be old and tired with our room in need of renovation and attention needed to the musty/damp smell that hung around the areas we went. We did not find the accommodation comfortable, the reception staff friendly and if we had not paid in advance and known about it before booking we would have tried elsewhere. Obviously we will not be back.
