An enjoyable 3 day stay at the Martello
Pros:

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, good local knowledge and able to advise on public transport when required. Very attentive in the restaurant. Food quality was very good for both breakfast and dinner. Excellent for promenade strolls and access to the beach. Bed cpmfortable, ensuite bathroom and shower excellent.

Cons:

We had booked 2 rooms and one of them had 2 large extraction ducts humming away beside the window. It would have been difficult to sleep with the noise. The reception staff were resourceful though and managed to give us a different room to eliminate the problem. All well in the end.
The rooms are neat for size and there are no comfortable chairs to sit and relax in the rooms.

courtyard,
right next to
the kitchen
ventilation and
what appears
to be a freezer/
compressor unit.
This creates
constant loud
noise, both day
and night.
There is a light
projector/fixture
near my room that
keeps the room
bright at night making it feel
like daytime and
preventing sleep.

Pros:

Krásné místo u pláže, velmi nápomocný personál. Dobře vybavená kuchyň.

Cons:

Dostali jsme pokoj u trati, nad místem s odpady, s netěsnícím oknem. Po našem požadavku na výměnu pokoje nám bylo nabídnuto odpovídající náhradní ubytování v jiném hotelu.

The location was great. The beds were comfortable it was nice to have a fridge & microwave.

Cons:

Would have been nice to have a table to sit at. Air-conditioning would have been a bonus in the summer heat.

Staying in the Martello for any amount of time while in Bray is a great decision if you’re looking for a fun & livel
Pros:

The location, the choices of options nearby and within the hotel for pubs/entertainment, & the very friendly & readily available staff.

Cons:

The nightlife, location, & comfy bed!

If you are going for a day or two…
Pros:

It is well located - close to Bray’s DART & walking distance to city center

Cons:

Over priced - restaurant is ok but not great - so many better options!
