Grovefield House Hotel By Uno -FREE PARKING

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Where do I begin… firstly to say that the lady on reception was lovely and helpful. The rooms are very outdated and also dusty. It was pretty difficult for me to even write this review as the WIFI didn’t even work in my room.

The rooms are fairly clean and beds are very comfy. Hairdryer and fan broke during my trip so that wasn’t great. It did also take me nearly 45 mins to wash my hair as the water came out like a trickle.

Over all an average experience but don’t go expecting high expectations.

Stayed here for one night whilst visiting legoland which isn’t too far away.

Receptionist was friendly and helpful upon arrival and we were checked in immediately. Receptionist had to hold lift door shut whilst we were in it to get it to work which was quite concerning so we darent use it again after that.

Room was very spacious as was the bathroom. Nice and fresh except a few carpet stains which looked like they could have been easily removed. Had a great nights sleep as bed was comfy and a fan was provided as the room was very warm and windows didn’t open far.

Liked the little canopy pub/ restaurant out from of the hotel. Made a nice alternative to a normal bar. Used room service which was served quickly and was delicious

Downside for us was breakfast. Waitress was quite abrupt and as we were waiting to get to the table she decided to stand directly in front of it blocking us with a male staff member saying how horrible the selection was. I mean she was correct. It was a horrible bland selection but not really something you say in front of guests.
Cooked breakfast was quite a small portion for £14 each

Weighing everything up we did enjoy our stay and would recommend

My wife and I have been staying here for a few weeks as we’re nomadic

We have a miniature Dachshund who travels everywhere with us

In my experience it’s people who make places & you couldn’t find a friendlier more amenable staff, everyone from front of house, management, restaurant, housekeeping are just so nice

We had a ground floor room with a back door with direct access to the garden which is 9 acres & mostly allowed to grow wild

We’ve seen deer and foxes here foraging at sundown

Special place, special people, don’t scroll any further, just book it

Overnight stay as was heading to the airport, great location, friendly staff.
Room was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfy and everywhere was clean, so had a good night sleep.
Food was good, very reasonably priced as was the bottle of rose wine.
Breakfast was a large choice of different cooked options as well as various cereals, fruits, yogurts etc.
Would highly recommend this place and will stay again when using the airport.

Really comfortable hotel, all the staff friendly and helpful, nice grounds, clean rooms with decent facilities - easy parking.

The breakfast was really good quality and a good selection - the food in the bar restaurant was nice too

Used this hotel since 1960s through various owners and changes. Now with Uno group. Rooms much the same, good size and kept in good order. Comfortable beds. Housekeeping excellent. Any request met. Clean and friendly. Budget breakfast but quite adequate.
A good value hotel in good location and in nice acres! Back again next month for a few days. Well done Uno and team!

The location is lovely, rural and set well back from the road with the large car park in front. The hotel has a welcoming approach with beautiful outdoor areas and gardens. Staff at reception were nice, very easy to check in. Foyer was very presentable and a nice touch were the jugs of iced water avaliable.
We just had a basic double room and it was better than expected, very clean. Large TV, nice side lamps, plenty of cupboard and table/desk space. Bathroom was nicely finished and all cleaned to a good standard. Large, thick and soft bath sheets plus plenty of hand towels. Complimentary shower gel and soap dispenser. Bed was a little soft for us but that's just personal preference. There was a kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the wardrobe along with extra pillows.

Icing on the cake for us was breakfast. Beautiful dining area with large patio doors and windows overlooking the patio and outside seating areas (which I assume are open for you to sit outside during nicer weather). Welcomed to the dining room by lovely staff, given an extensive menu (could have salmon, eggs benedict, smoked fish, plus other items as well as the usual traditional hot breakfast). As well as this there was a self catering buffet continental style breakfast with various cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruits, cheeses, ham, pastries, fresh juices (nice touch that they had these in jugs surrounded by ice to keep chilled), different options of milk. Nice individual pots of marmalades and jams really was a fantastic breakfast - perfect poached egg!

I'd booked this room through a cheaper option on Google search and as it was my first time doing this I was a bit worried but no need to be. Our price was extremely good value, in fact it was the cheapest hotel that came up when searching, so another reason I was a tad apprehensive. It was a lot cheaper than Travelodge (which wouldn't have included breakfast and due to the areas near the airport, we'd have had parking costs on top!).

The only negative was that the hotel was extremely warm, but we just turned the radiator down and opened the windows (which wasn't an issue due to how quiet it was).

If we were in the area again, we will certainly be rebooking.

Hotel highlights
Great view, Quiet, Great value

We visited Grovefield House Hotel as a big family group over the weekend to celebrate my grandparents’ anniversary, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly.
The team managing our event couldn’t have been more helpful—they even started their shift hours earlier just to ensure we were comfortable and that our day went perfectly. That level of care and commitment really stood out to all of us.

Their restaurant called Rara connected to the hotel was amazing too the food was so good and the vibe was amazing especially on Friday night as they had a live DJ. It’s also a shisha bar too which is a great touch. Will definitely be visiting this restaurant again and again and again.

The service throughout our stay was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was absolutely delicious, with plenty of choice and beautiful presentation. The hotel itself is lovely and peaceful, perfect for a family gathering or special occasion.
A big thank-you to the entire team at Grovefield House Hotel for helping us make such special memories. We’ll definitely be returning!

Location Venue very very nice. Atmosphere was homely. Staff was even very very helpful, all the time. Breakfast to dinner. I will recommend the venue for any occasion. We had our Diamond Anniversary. All our Guests were very happy. Rooms were clean. It was value for money too. Happy with cleanliness around too. Peacefull spot. Service was very good. Required amenities were all there.

A very nice hotel , we held an anniversary function on 21.3.26. Lovely staff, very helpful. The hall accommodate 120 guest, all have a fantastic time. The Meal at RARA was excellent.
