I did request a view of the Southern Alps on booking months in advance. As we were staying for 4 nights I wanted a view, but unfortunately my request wasn't able to be filled.
the staff were really helpful
the airconditioning was not well controlled. first up I had to get staff to give me access to cool my room which was getting a lot of winter sun. then it still was not very responsive. and its noisy

The room had the most disgusting smell of smoke. When I complained this morning upon check out the gentleman dealing with issue said I should have advised once I checked in which for me was no possible. The fridge was also very noisy
