It was very clean

Cons:

There were no extra blankets, no Netflix, the man at the front desk charged my card an extra $100 "deposit" without my permission that "wont be refunded ro my card for five business days". The bathroom small step is a huge hazard.

Best hotel in Christchurch, after staying at most of the major chains , this is the best.
Pros:

Fantastic views with a central location letting us walk to everything.
Twenty four hour access to all facilities supported by the friendliest professional staff.
Quiet central location inside the hotel with gym facilities and lobby bar designed for guest comfort and enjoyment.

Cons:

Awful senior manager or ceo rudely bossing around reception staff and housekeeping.
Have stayed several times and can HIGHLY state the hotel has the most welcoming hard working staff you could hope for. Always friendly, always focussing on the guest experience. Even the workers from level 10, going out of their way to put the guest experience first.
However, big fat rude man rushing around the hotel bidding these staff members and shouting at them. Completely unacceptable.

Would stay again. Recommend it. Perfect location for restaurants and bars nearby.
Pros:

Beds were comfy, shower was great, very clean place and everyone was friendly and efficient.

Not a 4 star hotel.
Pros:

Good location and some of the staff were lovely, but overall this did not feel like a 4-star hotel.

We paid extra for a late checkout, yet we were still woken up before the agreed checkout time, which was really disappointing.

The room itself felt tired and poorly maintained. There was a stain on the carpet, a broken wardrobe, a broken blind rail, and only one blind with no curtains. The TV was also very outdated and didn’t support screen mirroring or Chromecast.

For a hotel advertising itself as 4-star, I would expect a much better standard of room, maintenance and facilities.

The location is definitely a plus and some staff were friendly, but based on the room and our overall experience, I don’t think the 4-star rating reflects the actual standard.
