Needs some TLC
Pros:

Marilyn was very welcoming when we arrived
She provided us with many options of places to visit and where to eat
Beautiful, lush grounds

Cons:

The accumulated dust from very poor cleaning standards was everywhere, on the fan, furniture and floor
We took the local bus and walked everywhere. The darkness and unmade path was hard to negotiate back to the hotel at night
The promised hearty breakfast was very light. On our last day we had the standard bowl of muesli with yoghurt, a slice of bread, a little mushroom and a handful of raw spinach. Only one guest was offered an egg as we were leaving. There was no fresh fruit on offer, so we kept some in our room
Overall it was disappointing, as the hotel looks like something that was beautiful in the past, but is now very tired and unkempt

I’ve been waiting approximately 25 yrs to stay and it was worth it - really loved it.
Pros:

The laidback historic charm. Very Broome. No children YAY & few guests. We look forward to returning.

Cons:

The evening mossies - an incense option would be handy on verandas.

A sub-tropical retreat in WA's north.
Pros:

The breakfast was individually cooked each morning and was quite good. The rooms were good and the general surrounds had a nice sub-tropical retreat feel to it, complete with large bird cages that housed tropical parrots, just to add to the atmosphere. Very different, and better, than your standard hotel/motel.

Cons:

While the house has a large variety of ferns, plants and palms, a bit more attention to raking up the dead leaves, and bit of plant trimming would make the place look far more attractive.
