everything was good.
It’s well situated. There are several buses going to the centre of Edinburgh leaving every couple of minutes. It’s good cleanness wise although there are exceptions.
My 24-year-old son and I specifically chose this property because we wanted to boo a twin room. Upon arrival we were informed that “somebody messaged [us] the day before” that a twin room was not available and that, as compensation, our double bed was made with separate duvets (how very benevolent). We tried to resolve it at check-in but the lady at the reception wasn’t able to do much more than refer us to the manager who’d be at the hotel hours later. Obviously, waiting for them for hours would be a waste of time at that point.
It wasn’t until my legally trained son had a conversation with a manager about how inappropriate the arrangement was and how the provided room wasn’t a fair performance of the contract that we were moved to a souterrain twin room for the second night. No other compensation has been offered.
The standards of the rooms vary greatly. Top floors have electric showers where you have to choose between pressure and temperature. Whereas other rooms seem to have well functioning modern showers. Similarly, the top floor rooms’ wardrobes are literally hangers with curtains, whereas other rooms have proper furniture.
WiFi is equally mediocre all around the property.
Check in went smooth, enough parking spaces (free parking!), staff was super helpful and attentive (I forgot my phone charger and I could borrow one from a staff member). I stayed in the lodge at the back of the hotel, would've liked to stay in the house, but the room was comfortable, clean and still had easy access to reception and the lounge.
The room was a bit dated, it was clean and fine for one night. My bathroom light didn't work, which was a shame, and I couldn't find a way to turn on the smaller lights in the room which meant I had the big light on. Whole hotel definitely needs to be restored to fit the outside decor.

Ce logement est très bien placé par rapport aux bus qui desservent Édimbourg. C’était vraiment très pratique et facile de circuler. Pas besoin de voiture.
Pas de restaurant. Et le petit déjeuner de commence qu’à 8h30. Et il est à la carte. Donc pas de Yahourt pain etc à volonté à disposition.

Good location to access Edinburgh to explore. Modern bathroom.
We booked the family room with doors to the garden so that we could open the doors for fresh air to the room and our children could easily access the garden. However, apparently the key was lost, so we were unable to use it at all. Windows barely opened (but were also faulty so hard to close) so overall the room felt hot and not very secure. Beds felt quite hard. Breakfast was ok but was London prices and not for London quality or choice.
Not what I thought it would be. The hotel looked nice enough however I didn’t get to see any of it as we were in the annex at the back.
This is shabby and unloved. Rusty radiators, cheap furniture, no fridge etc.
Only positive was that it was clean.
Wouldn’t stay again.
Great, peaceful location away from the city noise, and a spacious, characterful room with a lovely skylight area.
The mattress was old and you could feel the springs, so we didn't sleep well. New mattresses would make this a genuinely excellent stay.

We had a wonderful stay. The hospitality and warm welcome were exceptional. Both staff members—the lady and the gentleman—were incredibly friendly, kind, and very helpful throughout our stay. They made us feel truly welcome.
The hotel itself was lovely, and the bed was extremely comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. We would be happy to stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.
The only minor drawbacks were that there is no elevator, and the room was a little small. However, these were only minor issues and did not affect our stay.

TV ei toiminut ja huoneesta puuttui turvalokero ja baarikaappi. Taksi hotellille piti soittaa itse. Rakennus ja sisustus olivat hienot. Muutoin hotelli vastasi kahta tähteä. Nuori mies respassa oli ystävällinen ja kohtelias. Nuori nainen respassa ei osannut palvella.
