I liked the ambience if the place ,it was clean,well situated in the center of London ,taxi service and close to train station making getting around easy.The staff were very polite,friendly and professional.
I paid for my room using two credit cards ,the first payment of 400pounds went out ok,then the balance was supposed to be taken out of another credit card plus charge for breakfast for two days.i paid got the ok that payment has gone through Since I was on holiday I just assumed the biggest bill was paid so I used my card based on the balance that I could see.
Come check out I was told sorry but the balance of the payment was not taken and on top of this the system has refunded 179 + pounds so you now owe us three hundred pounds! I was like what!how and why did this happen?from their explanation the accounting system rejected the payment and refunded a payment it never took.
To say we argued back and forth ,the staff were polite and patient and gave me the breakfast as complimentary. I struggled as I tried to understand how a huge hotel like this will have such a faulty accounting system,and then it downed on me that when I got to reception there were suitcases that appeared like guest suitcases behind the reception desk most likely belonging to other guest who found themselves in similar situations and can't pay so left their luggage s as collateral.I eventually had to pay three hundred pounds that I had not budgetted for that certainly affected my holiday and let down the place for me.
The location is great - close to the river and the brilliant facilities of Battersea Power Station. 20 mins on the tube to the West End. Rooms lovely, shower great with lovely products. Staff very friendly - especially Del at Breakfast. The pancake machine is fun! We really enjoyed the pool, the sauna and steam room.
One of our twin beds was a bit wobbly.

The premises are shabby and not up to pare...the hotel needs snagging and a total regeneration..
Limited food, limited beverages, badly chipped and dated furniture in rooms....over priced breakfast buffet..no spare toothbrushes.or.paste ..limited coffee milk and sugar in room ..

The location of property was great and the breakfast was good.
The only staff members who seemed to know that they work in the hospitality industry was the porter and the gentleman hosting breakfast. They were both friendly and helpful.
