Sandy Beach Hotel

First of all the entry door to our room was infested with ants crawling around it upon entry and we saw a huge water bug (cock roach) in main guest area. It didn't help that our room was also located on the same floor (first). Secondly, the walls in the bathroom didn't appear to ever be cleaned due to the amount of mosquitoes dead and stuck to them in the restroom closest to the entry door.
Thirdly, when I went to shut off the lamp on the desk and reached for the cord to shut it off before going to sleep, as I pulled it up to access the on/off switch, it made contact with the make shift head board attached to the wall, and this appeared to disturb more ants hiding in it causing them to scatter. Me and my wife decided to lay our heads on the opposite side of the bed hoping none would be crawling on our feet as we slept.
We had a 3pm check in, but due to our prior activities we were unable to check in till after 8pm. Due to the exhaustion from our previous activities and very early check out (2am) we decided to over see the defects and remain on site.
I guess you truly get what you pay for with this location.

Explained above ^The beds were soooo uncomfortable, I woke up sore everyday . The sheets were dirty. We went and bought new bed sheets and a blanket . The towels wreaked in strong bleach. The bathroom door was literally falling apart, we were only given one roll of toilet paper for 4 ppl in one room, the location felt unsafe, everything was out dated . We had canceled flights to picked whatever was available but was totally disappointed in this hotel . If never stay here again or recommend anyone to stay here

The only downside was that I was required to pay a **$200 pre-authorization/security deposit**, which was only communicated to me about 24 hours before check-in. It would have been helpful to know about this policy earlier when making the reservation.

A few electrical outlets in the room were not working, and there was no daily housekeeping service during my stay. At night, I could hear people walking through the hallways and talking loudly. I think having quiet hours or a nighttime noise policy would make the experience even better.

The outdoor shower near the entrance, which is intended for guests returning from the beach, was also not working during my stay.

Other than these minor issues, I had an excellent experience. The hotel's location, comfort, and amenities made for a very enjoyable stay, and I would still recommend it to others.

The part of town it was located in was not good. There was no parking so we had to wait for a space to become available. The pictures were not a real representation of the property. When we went to check out, we had decided not to stay another night and the desk manager at the time was rude, unprofessional and made the process more difficult. He was reactive towards my son, defensive and argued with him. My son had to leave so I and my other son could deescalate the situation. He and the other staff member made it difficult to get our 200 dollar deposit back. We did not cause any damage to the room, didn't even use the shower. When I called later to discuss the making sure that we received a credit for the $200 deposit, it was difficult to understand him being on speaker phone, which distorted his voice and he hung up on me. When I called back 2 times he continued to hang up on me.

It was strange that even though there was no payment needed until my arrival, they attempted to charge my credit card as I was flying overnight and caused my bank to decline the charges. Then emails were sent to me stating the reservation would be canceled if I didn't respond in 4 hours, which I could not respond to while flying.
This is inconsistent to information provided on Booking.com and should be addressed.
