Cons:

The staff was unfriendly; they didn't explain anything ; I had to ask everything myself. ( about parking, breakfast, check out) There was no shower gel in the room., the bottle was empty. The view from the window was terrible, there was a huge fan downstairs making noise, and the refrigerator was very loud. I ordered yogurt with granola from the hotel menu for breakfast, but it was out.

Pros:

Excellent service! Shoutout to Miguel for making our stay comfortable. The hotel's location is superb... very near Tmes Square, Bryant Park and with subway access.

Outside bedroom or not?
Pros:

Good: friendly staff

Not good: We stayed here with our two children (21 & 18) for college tours and of course Broadway! For the past 4-5 years, when traveling we typically get two adjoining rooms so we have more space to breathe. At this hotel they did not grant our request to have two rooms together and were too full to make the adjustment when we arrived (thankfully our children are both adults now). Instead, we had one room on the 7th floor and one on the 9th.

The absolute worst part of our stay was the continual noise outside while I tried to sleep - sirens throughout the night/morning, trash trucks, delivery trucks sitting idle for an hour, cars blasting music at 3AM, and noises of construction at 2-3AM. In all my years of traveling to NYC, I have never stayed in a hotel where the noise was so bad the entire night that I felt like my room was outside. As a 25+ year member, I hoped to get a room on a higher floor to muffle the sound a bit but of course not. I know that sounds a bit snooty, but why should I have a membership or account with Marriott if I can’t even rely on them to put my family together or somewhere on the same floor? OR…. Maybe I am just sleep deprived and need a nap.

Don’t waste your time or money. Awful, hot, needs updating
Pros:

I would never stay at this place again. The air did not work, at points it was 80 plus degrees in our room. The staff was dismissive. I called more than 5 times during our stay and as soo. As I called the temperature dropped for a hour or so. Sometimes there was a 20 minute wait for an elevator as they all did not work. There was constant pot smoking out side the front door. The area is dirty and acceptable that people act and behave the way they do. The place is in need of a major renovation and face lift. The management team should be ashamed at best. By far the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed at. A one rating is grateful conduit can’t give it a zero or a negative number
