The staff were helpful, knowledgable and very pleasant. Street car parking was easy as a parking permit was provided by the hotel at no cost.The room was spotless and well appointed. The mattress was very comfortable. The included breakfast was amazing and excellent value for money. Would definitely stay there again.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and the freshly cooked breakfast was very good.
My bedroom had a string curtain hanging down each side of the bed, which I kept getting tangled in when getting into the bed. The curtain was very tatty and knotted, served no useful purpose and spoilt the decor on what was an otherwise nicely decorated room. The door lock was very tricky and it sometimes took me at least 5 minutes to open the door.

The crushed velvet throws and pillows felt very cheap and tacky
On arrival the receptionist was pleasant and helpful. We were allocated a room on the top floor, which was a bit of a challenge for OAP who has health issues, made more difficult given the weather conditions.
The room on first impressions seemed fine, but we noticed that the curtain rail at the bedroom window was insecure and worried that it may come down as the metal fixing was loose. The bathroom window was open on arrival and we were unable to close it later in the evening as it was scaled up and was impossible to close . On closer inspection we noticed that we had no hand/bath towels in the bathroom, so another trip downstairs to request those. We made ourselves a hot drink later in the evening and had to request more milk, as some the ones in the room had curdled due to them being in the very warm room. Not ideal!. The bathroom was dated, the shower had to be hand held as the fixing on the walk wasn't compatible to the showerhead. Bath panel was all marked and there was grime behind the wash hand basin taps which was off putting. Base of the bed was marked and had shredded mesh type fabric along the bottom.
Breakfast was OK just basic. Was definitely not a score of 8 in our opinion may be a 4.5 tops. Would definitely not return
Location was about the best thing in relation to this property.
Yes it was perfect after leaving the isle of wight.we went had a walk around seafront.Staff was helpful showed us to our room.Had a nice breakfast in the morning.
Our go to hotel when passing through Portsmouth
Due to the heat wave the room at the top of the hotel was very warm but a fan was provided.
We were very disappointed that the hot tub in our bathroom was difficult to use, filled it and the jets started spraying water all over the bathroom. Internet very slow and kept booting us out the tv. Otherwise, nice room, pleasant stay
We managed to park on site
The room was listed as over looking the garden which was in fact a jungle of weeds. Water was running noisily from somewhere outside our window several times a day.Breakfast on the 2nd day was cold and when mentioned I was told sorry chef is ill and I have done my best. I asked for tea with my breakfast and this appeared as a teabag in a cup of water.
Booking in was a breeze and the breakfast was excellent as well as the staff.
The TV had no explanation of how to use it.
I had to ask the reception for assistance.
He seemed to expect us to know how to download an app for the TV and use that to operate it rather than the remote control.
