Great location nice staff smelly room
Pros:

I like the location and the service is very good. The restaurant is very good as well.

Cons:

The room I checked into was not great. The AC didn’t work and the room smelled very bad. The AC was fixed when I called the desk but the room smelled like smoke the entire stay. This hotel needs a refresh.

Unfortunately, my stay at the InterContinental was extremely disappointing and certainly did not meet the standards I would expect from a five-star hotel.

The biggest issue was the attitude of some members of the reception staff. Whenever we asked a question or requested information, the response was often unfriendly, dismissive and at times quite rude. The reception is the first point of contact with a hotel, and instead of making guests feel welcome, the service made us feel uncomfortable and discouraged from asking for assistance.

Another very disappointing issue concerned breakfast. Our Booking.com reservation indicated that breakfast was included, yet at the hotel we were informed that we would be charged approximately $100 per day. I found this extremely confusing and misleading. Charges of this level should be communicated clearly before arrival, not presented to guests afterwards.

In addition, the overall cleanliness and condition of the hotel did not reflect what I would consider five-star standards.

For the price and the reputation of the InterContinental brand, I expected a completely different level of professionalism, hospitality and cleanliness.

I would definitely not choose this hotel again and, based on my experience, I cannot recommend it.

Luxe hotel met echt een top locatie dichtbij Times Square.
Pros:

Vrij luxe hotel met bijbhorende bar/restaurant.
De locatie was echt top, binnen 3minuten op Times Square.
Vriendelijke personeel.
En ook de service van de technische dienst was top.

Cons:

We waren met 4 personen en hadden inclusief ontbijt geboekt. Nu bleek dat er in de kleine letters stond dat er bij het boeken van 4 personen op 1 kamer, er maar 2 personen ontbijt krijgen. De andere 2 personen moeten dus bij betalen en dat was niet goedkoop. (50 dollar per persoon extra)
Ook waren wij niet bekend met vooraf te betalen: hotel amenities (vreemd concept vonden wij)
