July 2026
Pros:

Great experience. First met by Santi who helped us with our luggage and parking. He was fantastic. Ahmed checked us in and was very polite and helpful. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the gentleman who took our luggage to our room. He was also polite and fantastic. Great staff and great service.

Stay at the Intercontinental Times Square (IHG)
Pros:

We arrived July 20, 2026. Carolyn, at the Front Desk greeted us with a smile (even though there were a number of guests checking out). I told her we were early and just wanted to store our luggage while we grabbed lunch. She said let me check. Your room could be ready, and it was. 5 stars for that alone.

Next, we went to find lunch and I always ask for suggestions from the locals. Enter, Bert (ROCK STAR). He told us a place to go that was nearby. We went and the food was out of this word. Bert gave us a few suggestions and he was spot on with them all. Now my husband wants us to go back later this year with our adult daughters.

We are planning to stay there again. With team members like Carolyn and Bert (and I forget out cleaning lady's name -- 1705), the Intercontinental Hotel (IHG) is batting 1000!

Horrible Service
Pros:

Horrible Service in lobby bar! Served quesadilla that were clearly overcooked and still served. Then, I switched to truffle fries that appeared to be reheated and lukewarm. Afternoon female bartender makes horrible drinks. I switched to wine to take her out of the equation. A waste of money and time at this property. I have learned my lesson…

Avoid at all cost
Pros:

Avoid at all costs.

This hotel is dated, dirty, dingy, and has an unpleasant smell throughout. It is hugely overpriced and offers virtually no customer service. The breakfast area resembles a poorly run school canteen rather than a hotel restaurant.

We booked this as part of a British Airways package advertised as a 5-star hotel. In reality, it falls far short of that standard and, in my opinion, would struggle to meet even a 2-star rating.

The entire property is in desperate need of a complete refurbishment. The rooms are tired, cleanliness is poor, and the overall experience was extremely disappointing.

Without question, this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Nice restaurant and staff, Strangely run down rooms
Pros:

Checking was seamless and staff very helpful except the day manager (African American lady who was too busy taking about her nails to help) and the other African American lady with short dark hair who couldn’t find anyone to assist with a housekeeping issue- which was the presence of garbage under the bed along with an inch of dirt and more garbage under the dresser. She said a manager would call me but 7h later, nada. When I came back to room in evening, housekeeping reported it had been dealt with which necessitated a field trip with the hotel manager, the housekeeping manager and me going up and me showing them the refuse. Good times. When a bed had the sheet get pulled up accidentally, it was going the bed pad was quite torn.

Overall, Rafiul, Jessica the host in the restaurant, Nick, Rolando in the restaurant were outstanding, Room details need to be upgraded to reflect the price and status of the hotel. Location is great!

Not worth it. Not sure how this qualifies to be an Edit hotel.
Pros:

My husband is a diamond member. We had booked through Chase edit which in addition to being Diamond should have qualified us for a room upgrade. But the room that we were given was not good at all.
We had booked back to back two reservations through Chase edit which should have qualified us for 2 $100 credit credits and the front desk person who checked us in tried to say that that was not true. I had to call the customer service desk to get our credits and they did honor it in the end.

The water in the sink was either extremely hot/scalding or was extremely cold
The room was just barely clean and the carpets were so worn out
We always stay at the Marriott marquee and we wanted to try intercontinental Times Square since intercontinental Barclay was extremely good. But it was a mistake. There is no lobby for per se. The restaurant and the room service dining options were below par.
The breakfast was so basic that we skipped breakfast except for coffee pretty much every day we were there

The staff there is helpful which is why the three stars

Next time I would not stay here.

Convenient but needs refresh
Pros:

It is time for this hotel to have a refresh and be updated. This was my second stay in the past year. The hotel is convenient to the 42nd St / Port Authority train station. It is close to Times Square but not exactly on the main street which can be busy and noisy. I was on the 24th floor and heard street noise/cars. Also I am a platinum elite that reserved a premium upper floor room. There was no mention of the complimentary upgrade. The bellsmen are the only people greeting you in the hotel. I felt like a bother to the front desk. The app tells you to communicate with the staff
by text but it’s takes over an hour for them to respond back. Someone knocked on my door at 2am with a fridge. I was in bed. When I arrived to my room there was a glass, knife, and fork outside the door. Those items stayed there the entire duration of my stay. Inside the room was a previous guest’s dirty sock. The room was relatively clean with mostly just stained carpet that needs to be replaced. Housekeeping removed that when I called. The bathroom was not fully stocked and I ran out of body wash because the reusable bottle wasn’t refilled. The Byredo products are nice but not sure of the authenticity. The shower has a lot of mold and mildew. If my stay had been longer than 2 nights, I would have found another suitable hotel.

Cons:

Éramos dois adultos e uma criança e tínhamos o pequenos almoço incluido.
Quando fomos fazer o check-out cobraram-nós o pequeno almoço da criança.
Já viajamos por muito países e nunca nos aconteceu igual… lamentável.

Great stay and even better hospitality
Pros:

We had a wonderful experience staying overnight at this hotel. I have to take the time to shout out JC the concierge who made the trip exceptional as opposed to just good. Her warm personality, excellent service and her ability to extend herself for us was so refreshing in a world where service seems harder and harder to connect with a genuine human being with an unhurried pace. She went out of her way to help us on three separate occasions and set the tone for the excellent service the other staff provided. Francisco at the front desk was also very helpful when checking in. The manager at the restaurant in the morning (I didn't catch her name) was also fantastic. The room was lovely and the location is perfect. We will be back again because of the excellent service
