Excellent
Nothing
The Carrington is a beautiful old building which compensates for the minor shortcomings in the service and facilities. The public and guest lounges are particularly wonderful and I spent most of my time in them. My bed was comfortable and the private bathroom clean and convenient. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful.
There was very little information provided to guests re the facilities, breakfast etc. I was one of several guests wandering around, asking where we could eat on the Friday night. Settled for Charlie's (?) bar where I was handed a menu only to be told later that almost nothing on it was available. The young woman working there was particular unfriendly and unhelpful. She delivered the wrong meals to me and another lost guest, which we sorted out between us. Needless to say, I ate breakfast elsewhere.
My room was a bit hot and stuffy during the night and I didn't know how to adjust the heating. The bar fridge made a loud ticking noise which woke me several times - I reported this to staff at reception.
The Carrington exceeded our expectations in all aspects. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our suite was enormous, very comfortable and warm. The heating could be adjusted in the room at each radiator. Our view from the balcony was fabulous and the very tame cockatoos came for breakfast each morning. The full buffet breakfast was excellent value at $30 a head and the filter coffee so good that my husband asked for the name of the coffee brand used. We will be back!
Location and the vibes
The mattress was too soft for me. The taps need mixing of hot and cold water, not easy to get it right for quick shower
Historic Hotel with great character. Wood fires and antique furniture
No complaints
Such a comfortable relaxing environment, perfectly positioned to enjoy all Katoomba has to offer
I booked a room with an external bathroom and intend to book one with an ensuite next time
Room comfortable and warm.
Drinks in lounge very good
Pity the main dining room closed for a function but City Bank was ok
Heerlijk art deco hotel in Katoomba. Je hebt wel een outside badkamer, dus in hotel verderop in de gang naar dat is ook heel leuk. En beneden kan je heerlijk borrelen. Opvallend: de mannen aan de balie hebben allemaal een snor haha
Niks
The old world decor and the Location
Having to leave
The Wi-fi info was not attached to the phone or anywhere in the room. Missed not having a booklet about the hotel and Kstoomba surrounds. There wasn't one. Minor when considering the game plan of experiencing something special when you stay at the Carrington. This was our second stay and we'll be back another day for sure. Our grand kids loved it when they stayed a few months ago.
I don't think I have anything apart from, Did I miss not finding a Carrinton postcard?
I actually like the bathroom down the end of the hall. That's great.
Old world charm, location good and concierge was amazing.
No view, but wasn't expecting one
Love stepping into the old world charm of the Carrington. I enjoy sitting in the lounge area, with the fire place and a cocktail.
