The gentlemen at the front desk (from Italy, I’m sorry I can’t remember his name) was the nicest, most helpful and welcoming person I met at the hotel. Everyone was nice, but he went above and beyond.
We went to art on the square and the hotel was a convenient distance from the capital. The room had an accessible roll-in shower and had enough room for a scooter. Wonderful!
Standard Hyatt near the state capitol. Underground parking not unreasonable price (used to be free). Fridge in room is convenient. Simple but adequate breakfast offering.
The front desk supervisor was one of the most incompetent person i ever meet in my life
Booked thru the booking.com, got there and made me wait for 1 and half for the incompetent supervisor to come and open the system to find my reservation, even when I had to confirmation and payment on my phone
Breakfast was fine
Communication with staff was less than optimal. Our microwave caught fire. The service department was fast and efficient and tried to replace it but the new model did not fit and they provided us with a countertop replacement. The front desk staff tried to give us a new room (at our request), but they were all booked. They then said that they would adjust the bill to reflect the problem. Even though I reminded the front desk staff (manager) re the adjustment to the bill several days before checking out - there was no record of the fire in our account, no mention of an adjustment. Staff said they would fix this. A second staff member the next day was unable to do anything. Again, at checkout there was no adjustment to the bill, with the staff member saying that they would contact us within a day. No follow up contact. Three calls to the hotel were not returned. I finally received a call back from someone who did not know anything about the incident. They offered points to be deposited in my account. This didn't happen. A follow up call resulted in another person saying that points would be deposited in account. I tried to access my account and was told that it had been closed in 2016 (!) and obviously no points were deposited. While the location of this hotel was great, we will not be returning to it due to the very poor staff communication.
What’s great location! We only stay here when visiting Madison. Everything is so nice and the staff are so friendly. This trip we had 2 small children and a dog and we never felt like we were an issue for them. One front desk staff said she likes the energy our little boys brought!!
Clean and close to the square
Mattress was a little bit soft for me.
The hotel was a convenient location, rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast could use some improvement in selection. Forest at the front desk is very kind and helpful
The Hyatt Place was perfect for our visit. The staff at the front desk was friendly and very helpful.
The location was ideal, since we were visiting Madison for a biking vacation. We were able to park the car and bike directly from the hotel. There is safe and easy access to the Capital City Trail and the Southwest Commuter Path from the hotel. It is also an easy walk to restaurants near the capital building and along State Street.
The rooms were clean and large enough to store our bikes. There were a lot of kids and some dogs on our floor, but noise was never an issue. The kids seemed to like the pool on the first floor.
We are already planning to return next year.
Very nice budget-friendly hotel in Downtown just blocks from both the Capitol building and the UW campus. Hotel is clean and the room was very comfortable. The 2-Queen room was plenty spacious, which left two taller individuals were very comfortable with room to stretch out. Breakfast was good. Nothing stood out so it was right where it should be for the price.
