Pros:

Location was good and the room was very nice.

Cons:

Breakfast was a catastrophe! The service lacked organisation leading to us waiting an hour before anybody realised our order had been lost. The hotel was expensive for one night and we expected a much better service than this. All we received was an apology and upon check out we were not asked how our stay had been.

Pros:

Walked into the room to find 2 dog beds for our boys, a doggies box with some quality sweets and chews, and 2 bowls, there was a mini Smeg fridge and a good tea/ Coffee area. The staff were amazing so friendly and Kind too.

Cons:

No Fan or Air Con, and it has been very hot

Happy bride and groom
Pros:

My 2 besidesmaids and I stayed in the Colnoels apartment the night before my wedding. The apartment was comfortable and clean. My husband and I left getting a room for ourselves after the wedding to the last minute. Staff were super helpful with getting us a room in the main part of the hotel. They stored our bags until we returned after the wedding and the room was lovely. We had breakfast the next morning which was perfect and the environment was great.

What used to be the best stay in Norwich is going downhill.
Pros:

As always the breakfast was good, and the restaurant staff okay.

Cons:

The room was stuffy, the fan did little move air, and the window was chained so it would open less than 4"

If I come back, I will ask for a a room overlooking the garden in the hope that that would be cooler
Pros:

Staff were great, food was good (we had dinner), beds were very comfortable, garden was great

Cons:

Hadn't appreciated the hotel was surrounded by busy roads. Our room overlooked the car park at the front and had full sun in the afternoon and was unbearably hot. I appreciate you can't control the weather, but the fan supplied was inadequate. The heat coupled with the noise of the road, and the light from the carpark which is brightly lit all through the night meant that we had a sleepless night.
The window in the bathroom could not be opened to allow more air in (and in any case that would have disturbed the many spiders web on the bathroom window. A bit of extra cleaning is required here!)

Disappointing
Pros:

The Robert’s radio in my room. Good quality towels.
The quality of food for breakfast and dinner was fine.

Cons:

Location is by a roundabout on busy ring roads on edge of the city and not easy for walking into the centre.
Had a number of customer service issues which I’ve raised with management which they say they are addressing.
A Cosy Double room was very cramped with minimal storage space- wouldn’t recommend for a couple.
Bedding was suitable for the winter, not a heatwave.

Used to be great, what happened?
Pros:

The building itself and the rooms are stunning. We had a large bathroom with a separate bath and shower. The bed was incredibly comfortable and it's well located in Norwich.

Cons:

Unfortunately, this is no longer the place it used to be.
We booked months in advance to stay here on our wedding night as our reception was a short walk away in the city centre.

Firstly, a few days before check in, but after the free cancellation window expired, I was informed early check in was at a cost of £25 and only allowed check in from 13:00 instead of the normal 15:00. I asked about waiving this given it was our wedding night and we also had a booking for breakfast for a large number of people the following morning. I was told this "would be fine". On arrival I was told the opposite by the "deputy manager" and have been charged £25 from a £50 holding fee despite asking to waive it beforehand given our wedding was at 15:00.

Secondly, breakfast service was horrifically slow. The food itself was also not of the quality I would have expected for the price. They also somehow ran out of baked beans and took almost 20 minutes to bring toast after the main food arrived.

Thirdly, there was no parking at all available on arrival. I was told it was "first come, first serve" which isn't something I've ever come across at a hotel before. Meaning, people staying had no preference over those just visiting for food or drinks. This meant I had to park elsewhere. Luckily family were staying at another hotel nearby and had allocated parking.

Finally, regardless of the above, the service itself felt lazy and almost as if the staff didn't even want to be there. At no point did anyone even offer a simple "congratulations" on our marriage. It's therefore probably no surprise that zero effort was made to provide even a small gesture in our room to mark the occasion.
