Was good but could be better
Pros:

It was close to the beach. The man that gave our keys was awesome.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our stay did not meet our expectations. The breakfast was disappointing, as most of the food was served cold. Aside from the toast, everything else was already cold by the time we received it. Considering the price we paid, we expected a fresh, hot breakfast.

We also had to wait approximately 10 minutes while staff went to the dairy next door to purchase milk and bread to top up and restock items, as only about half of the breakfast selection was available when we arrived.

The room also did not match what was advertised. We had booked expecting a full view of the sand dunes and water; however, trees significantly blocked the view.

Additionally, the driveway requires maintenance. There were several large potholes, which made access difficult and may not be suitable for smaller vehicles.

Overall, while the location has potential, improvements in these areas would greatly enhance the guest experience and better align with guest expectations for the price paid.

Lovely friendly staff and beautiful location overlooking the water. Great food in the hotel, lovely roaring fire on a cold day and continental brekkie included.

Cons:

The toilet was super close to the shower cubicle for people with long legs!

Pros:

Friendly staff, clear room, big shower and strong water pressure, food is great, views of the harbour are awesome. The price for rooms is fair and cheaper than other accommodation in the area. I always stay here when I visit Opononi. Highly recommended.

Overall we loved our Stay, which was why we booked an extra night stay.
Pros:

I liked the convenience and location of the Hotel which was close to all amenities and the staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. My son also enjoyed himself immensely for his 18th birthday 🎉

Cons:

Having to change rooms - when we booked an additional nights stay at the Opononi hotel. Not the fault of the Hotel, was more my own fault for not booking this for the long weekend.

Overall it was an awesome stay I would definitely book again!
Pros:

I loved the view from our bedroom and living area it was beautiful and would definitely recommend. I enjoyed the feeling of having more than just a room, as it felt like a literal tiny home. Overall mine and my partners stay was awesome and well needed after our long week. The food from down at the bar is great, and overall the location is even better as the motel is surrounded by every necessity needed. Even better that we were allowed to bring and drink our own alcohol in our rooms.

Cons:

Overall there wasn't much I didn't like about our stay, maybe just the pricing of alcohol was a bit expensive from the bar but understandable. As well as maybe adding a bit of cooked hot foods to the breakfast menu would be better as nothing beats a sneaky eggs on toast with a little bacon on the side.
