Our room only had mugs, glasses and teaspoons, would have liked some more cutlery and plates. e,g, to be able to cut up fruit and put it on a plate.

Our stay in Punakaiki was wonderful. A great example for tourism in NZ.
Pros:

Great to have a deck looking directly to the Tasman. Food was amazing. Staff were engaged and friendly.

Excellent stay! Will be back!
Pros:

Rainforest room had excellent views out to the beach and a cute little round window looking out into the gardens. the gardens were kept beautifully. We loved the little water feature and tunnel to walk through. The room was very spacious and had a microwave and good size fridge, as well as plates, cutlery etc. The restaurant was great but you could also self cater with these rooms. The tiled floor of the kitchen area was warm - so nice! A lovely quiet room, very clean. A quick walk up to the pancake rock walkway. The footpath was closed due to work being done on one of the carparks but it was just as easy to walk up on the road.

Cons:

The bed was a little squishy and soft for my liking but that's just my personal preference.
