The hotel and grounds were superb, my dog chased rabbits for most of the night when we were outside, breakfast was lovely.
I am disabled with mental health issues and we travelled from South Wales up to Hull for a task on Saturday morning. My therapy dog and I arrived and it was getting dark at just after 10pm. We parked in the disabled bays and went straight into the hotel. The hotel receptionist was infatuated with my dog and made a fuss of her (nothing was mentioned about parking). She gave us our key, but, as we had travelled a long way we went on to the patio area where I had a beer and Luna (Weimaraner) chased rabbits. At about 11pm we went to our room and it must have been 50 degrees centigrade, it was stifling. I went back to reception and explained the situation, the receptionist said sorry but there was a fan in the room to help. I explained that all it did was blow hot air around. She would not move us so we had to like it and lump it. We went to bed (on top) and at about 2am I woke to my dog panting due to the heat, I was terrified she may be ill so went went on to the patio and tried to sleep in the outside chairs. We stayed outside until 5am and went back to the room as it was getting daylight, we managed another hour and went back on the patio at about 6am. We stayed there until 7am when it started to rain, we sat there getting wet as it was so refreshing, people in the hotel lobby were laughing at us (not knowing what we had been through. I put the dog in the van and went to breakfast which was lovely. On checking out the new receptionist asked me how our stay was, I explained what had happened and where we had slept and all he said was I am so sorry about this. We left about 8am. Worse was to come as I received a parking fine of £100 from Parkmaven, I am sure when I stopped there previously there was nowhere to register your vehicle. I would have also thought that the receptionist on checking in would have told me or asked if I had a vehicle. Gutted.
Great location for attending a nearby function, with plenty of parking and easy access to Humber Bridge. All facilities that was required and room was big enough and comfortable.
Room was very hot, fans are supplied, but there was a shortage of fresh air and the windows have safety cables on, preventing them from being opened wide.
The location is great as are the staff
There is a heating issue at the hotel which has been going on for at least a week as and probably longer - I was here a week ago - the boiler seems to be on 24/7 at full blast and although the radiators are off the heating pipes are almost too hot to touch and run though the rooms. The result is tropical nights with fans required and no air con in the rooms to help. If it was a dog in a car you would be reported to the RSPCA. I feel for the staff who can't seem to do anything about it and are dealing with complains constantly. So no or little sleep with in our case the door propped open, not recommended in a hotel. As my wife is a wheelchair users the options are limited when it comes to booking, we like to hotel JUST FIX THE HEATING ISSUES.
public areas good, views (from public areas) good.
Terrace door from bar/lounge constantly slamming was a huge annoyance. No in-room aircon in 30+C weather meant we had to sleep on top of the bed, limited window opening compounded the heat. Provided fan was inadequate. Too many stairs.
Location for a event
The room was dirty old and extremely hot with windows that you carnt open
Location was good and bed was comfortable
It was stupidly hot so bad that we left at midnight and didn’t actually sleep in the hotel.
Perfect location for our needs
No air conditioning on the hottest week of the year
nothing
it’s been a heatwave so i expect the rooms to be a little warm due to no aircon, but they said they couldn’t turn the heating off so it was absolutely unbearable in the room. i even had to lay in the bath with freezing water for over 2 hours to try cool down i had around 40 mins sleep and checked out 2 hours early.
The place us nice the environment is goid the location and staff are excellent
May you kindly improve on your fan please or put air conditioning your rooms are very hot we didn't enjoy our stay
Good location and views from the deck.
The rooms were unbearably hot.
Great location, with seriously views
I stayed in a room in the basement, the staircase downstairs to that area was dreadful, the carpets in that area. we’re in places threadbare and in certain areas torn and tatty looking. The approach as you walk in looks fine, but as you wander around it and down stairs, it really looks tatty. It is far inferior too your local competitor about 4 miles away the Lazzat. Your hotel is definitely overpriced at £89.00 rooms only on the night I stayed
