I would definitely stay here again and loved the location!
Pros:

The property was lovely, close to everything and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a variety of foods to choose from and was delicious.

Cons:

Air con was set and couldn’t be changed, got a bit cold at night with only one sheet in the bed.

Good location, but doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel not recomanded for families woth childrens
Pros:

Location is excellent — sea right across the street. Rooms and common areas were very clean. Nice touch being able to leave luggage, use showers/changing rooms and get towels if you have a late flight. There was also a bottle of wine in the room, a nice welcome touch. Staff are a mix — some very friendly, others a bit arrogant. Food was good and portions were sufficient, but not very varied.

On the downside, several things made it feel below 5-star level:
- Pool is small and right next to the eating area and the main street — the Booking photos didn't really convey how small it is, though this may just be a space/location limitation.
- Elevators are quite small — I doubt a stroller would even fit. Not ideal for families with young children.
- Towels are only changed every 3 days.
No self-service coffee machine at breakfast — coffee is only served from a filter carafe brought to the table, or made to order at the bar (cappuccino etc.). There's no dedicated barista — the same staff member who makes the coffee is also busy setting up and arranging the tables, which causes delays. A proper coffee machine where guests could make their own coffee would have made a big difference. Coffee was served quite slowly most mornings, except for our last day, when it came quickly. There's also no coffee machine in the rooms — just a kettle and instant coffee, so there's no way to make a proper coffee at any point during the stay.
-Extra charges felt like a low-cost airline model, taking advantage of almost every situation through their policies: beach loungers require a minimum €3 /€ 20 consumption at the bar, and the breakfast drinks policy is confusing and inconsistently applied. One day a waiter told us the bar was closed, yet served cappuccino to another table — I had to go order it myself in person. Another time, after leaving the breakfast area and ordering a coffee from the smoking terrace, we were only informed when it was served that it would be charged €4, per their policy — even though we were still within breakfast hours (7:30–10:00). We raised this with reception, not to dispute paying for it, but as constructive feedback that for a 5-star hotel, this kind of policy feels more like a low-cost airline nickel-and-diming guests wherever possible. Staff were quite firm and didn't seem open to reconsidering it. At checkout I also asked directly about the coffee policy and got conflicting answers — first "one coffee per day," then "as many as you want but only if you stay in the breakfast area, otherwise you pay if you're on the smoking terrace." The policy remains unclear even after asking.
At check-in, some information was given only in Greek — partly on us for not asking for an English version at the time, but it should probably be offered by default.

Overall: great location and clean, but small elevators, no coffee-making options, confusing breakfast policies, inconsistent service, average food for the category, barista attitude and a "pay for everything" approach to extras made it feel more like a solid mid-range hotel than a true 5-star experience.

Fantastic!
Pros:

Perfect location - beach front and close to shopping, restaurants and a short walk to the old town. The staff were all very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast was definitely a highlight!

Absolute delight
Pros:

Excellent holiday in Rethymno Crete
Pros:

Excellent location, good food and value for money. The service from staff was of a high standard. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. All areas within the hotel were also kept clean to a high standard. This hotel is a smaller hotel but you are in Rethymno where all the action is from culture to tourism and much more.

A frustrating stay marked by weak management, unclear policies, and disappointing upkeep.

Cons:

There are several serious issues with this hotel and, frankly, I genuinely do not believe this property qualifies as a 5-star hotel. At best, I would rate it as a 3.5-star property.

The main issues I experienced were:

1. The room was extremely old and worn out. The floor was visibly uneven (I have photos), the shower clearly had plumbing issues, and the toilet seat was loose and not properly fixed.
2. The cleanliness standards throughout the hotel were unacceptable. The corridors and common areas were poorly maintained, and I personally saw blood stains and vomit that had not been cleaned properly.
3. The parking is not located on-site as advertised or implied. It is around a 4–5 minute walk away, underground, and in an unpleasant and somewhat intimidating area, especially at night. And it’s chargeable!!!!
4. The hotel only allows guests to change beach towels once every three days. I travel frequently and have genuinely never experienced such a policy at any hotel claiming to be 5-star.
5. The reception manager was unfriendly, dismissive, and appeared completely uninterested in customer experience or resolving concerns.
6. The lift/elevator situation is extremely poor. The lift is tiny, very slow, and clearly insufficient for the size of the hotel. During busy periods, waiting times can easily become excessive, forcing most guests to use the stairs instead. Thankfully we stayed on the first floor, but for guests on higher floors, elderly guests, or anyone with mobility issues, this would be a major problem.
7- Breakfasts finishs at 10am
8- Beach is chargeable - again so odd for a beach hotel.
9- We got a different room than what we booked

My biggest issue is the false advertising and lack of clarity on what exactly are you booking.

Overall, after visiting Greece regularly for the past six years, usually 2–3 times per year, and staying in more than 15 hotels across the country, this has by far been my worst hotel experience.

Pros:

Excellent service at good value! used this hotel to attend a wedding in area. Room quality was excellent: size, cleanliness and furnishings all great value. Reserved ocean view room and enjoyed balcony view of beach. Staff was uniformly pleasant and helpful -- housekeeping was prompt; front desk ready to assist; restaurant/bar had great service. Great value for the area; will stay again.

Piękny hotel, w idealnej lokalizacji. Tuż przy plaży z darmowymi leżakami, 10 minut spacerkiem do starego miasta. W pobliżu liczne restauracje. Piękny apartament na najwyższym piętrze, z jacuzzi i widokiem na morze. Niespodzianka w pokoju w postaci szampana i deski owoców. Śniadania przepyszne, różnorodne, było wszystko co potrzeba. Duży wybór, na pewno każdy znajdzie coś dla sobie. Pyszny świeżo wyciskany sok z pomarańczy, w niedzielę nawet prosecco :) Przesympatyczna i pomocna obsługa w całym hotelu. Gorąco polecam! Zdecydowanie 5 gwiazdek!
