Nice clean rooms eith very friendly staff
Location is not prrfect.
The DoubleTree in Cape Town, South Africa. The bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent, breakfast was great in the morning. Loved the extra service by the cappuccino and mochaccinos in the morning. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Whenever I needed transportation to get to an area, they arranged it, which was great, and especially when I was traveling solo, it helped going into certain areas of town. The food in the area was good, that there's a couple local restaurants on the bottom of the hotel that are easy, and the hotel bar food is good. The drinks are very reasonable. The TV channels are a little bit always limited in another country, but were fine. They provided water for us in the hotel room, which was a really nice amenity. I arranged airport pickup before I came in, and they were there promptly with my name on it, which made it easy to get to the hotel. They have a free shuttle to the waterfront, and the towels were good, and it was a quiet area.
Dealing of staff is superb with guests
This was a great option for our family during our recent trip to Cape Town. It is about 10 minutes by car from the V&A Waterfront (the hotel offers a free shuttle) and within minutes of other local attractions. Rooms were clean and reasonably appointed. Restaurant offered a wide selection of options - every meal we had was well prepared and breakfast was ample. The staff in the restaurant was particularly friendly (especially Elna, who went above and beyond). The area is not safe to walk around, but given the easy access to Uber and other options to popular Cape Town destinations, it wasn't an issue. While the hotel is not "fancy" it served our needs well. We would return to this property again if ever in Cape Town.
