Great location. Comfortable
Could use a freshen up and more attention to cleaning
We loved the big family room for our trip. Location is great too
Breakfast was very basic.. would be good to see more fruit or eggs. It was mentioned to have yoghurt but not when we stayed.
Great for short stays in Katoomba- beautiful hotel- great location- decent simple breakfast included- good set up in rooms for a family
The hot shower was good
The cottage was not cleaned properly. Dust was present in every corner of the place. The kitchen had some foul-smelling rags and tea towels that we had to throw away because the odour was making everyone feel sick. It seemed like they had only changed the beds and provided clean towels, but the rest of the house was neglected. There were used Band-Aids left in the main room, there were no bin liners, there was no extra toilet paper provided eventhough the booking was for 6 people.
We've been visiting the Blue mountains since I was a child and have always loved the mountain air, the location of Hotel Blue is great 👍 it's close to everything, it's minutes from the train station and almost next door to Katoomba RSL which is usually a great place for a meal
The heaters worked and the room was warm through the night, the bed was comfortable, the fridge while small did work, and there was tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a kettle which was definitely appreciated :)
Hotel Blue is an older building so of course you've got to factor that in, it's also a budget motel so you can't expect The Ritz, however unfortunately when we stayed the hot water heater was playing up so one of the things we really did expect and hope for considering we had and paid for a private bathroom in the middle of the cold mountain winter was a hot shower in the morning but unfortunately neither my wife or I got to have one on either of the days/nights that we stayed, also the Internet was close to unusable as was watching anything on the tv at night before bed, so make sure you've at least got data available on your phone or tablet if need be, otherwise it was clean and comfortable and what we'd expect for a budget last minute weekend getaway for two
Hotel Blue was relaxed and home like - it wasn't just a motel room - you had to have to walk around to find the dining room and this guided you to look at all of the comfy sitting rooms and spooky stairways etc.. Breakfast was enjoyable and relaxed.. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location was basically in the middle of the train station and the Three Sister's Lookout which made it easy to go back to the motel for a break between adventures. Front of house staff were lovely - helpful and polite. They seem to be doing their best with the very big job of running a motel and keeping their guests happy. The price for their accommodation was very affordable and made the difference between a one night stay at katoomba or a two night stay.
The bed was clean and well made - yes i did look under the pillow slips and sheets to check out the actual pillows and mattress. There were a few areas that were not as clean as you would expect but when brought to the attention of staff, these were mostly rectified.
Good location.
Poor Hotel Blue. New owners have completely let it lose its charm. No more fireplaces, no more bar, toast and cereal for breakfast. Stayed there many times before but this was the last time….
Great location. Reasonably priced. A few appliances were not working, however Cecillia went out of her way to supply alternatives. Great sunny sunroom at front of cottage which kids loved.
A few appliances were not working. We stayed in a cottage, which was a great size for us, so if you have a bigger family, it works. It may sound strange, but there was an unsettling feeling around the cottage during the night.
Great value for money.
Good location.
Good breakfast.
3rd time we have stayed here.
Location and comfortable bed
Great location close to shops and walking tracks. Room was comfortable, bed was good. Good range of cereals, bread, milk varieties, spreads and tea bags for breakfast.
Breakfast area could do with a coffee dispensing machine rather than having to go to reception and pay for coffee not made with instant powder. More attention to detail for bathroom cleaning would be good.
Location
Just felt for the location and the climate it could of had aircon, instead we had 3 heaters spread around the room but as it was so cold we could have been warmer and I think installing aircon at $1500 to $2000 you can go wrong. I think maybe if they put a sink in where the kitchenette is would be a great addition
