Great place to stay
Pros:

Excellent accomodation, my Nelson choice of stays. Great friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable beds and clean spacious rooms. Very good on site restaurant and bar.

Mediocre (other than Flames).
Pros:

Flames on 40 Restaurant and Bar was awesome! It was so good we dined there 2 nights of our stay. The food, the staff and ambience were fantastic!!

Cons:

The rooms although tidy enough, were poorly maintained. The shower didn’t work properly. There were pretty good sized scuff marks/scratches on the paintwork in the room, particularly in the bathroom. I think what bothered us most was the paper thin walls. We could hear the person in the next room quite clearly.
My daughter in law charged her phone in their room and when we got back from our day out, her phone charger was missing. We all looked in the van we were travelling in, our rooms, their suitcases and we couldn’t find it. She has been told by the Hotel that they aren’t prepared to do anything about it. It’s going to cost her $80 to replace it. Pretty disappointed Hotel Nelson.

Bit of a dive.

The place needs a really really good clean. Carpet stained. Couch also so horribly stained that no one wanted to sit on it. Black mould throughout the bathroom. No milk.

Pros:

Hotel location very central, parked car right outside our room. Room was cleaned every day and towels changed daily.
My partner had an issue with the duvet not being inside an inner cover, but other than that everything was very good. Internet cover was not that great in the part of the hotel we were at.
Just as an FYI, the Bond put on Hold when arriving at hotel takes 3 days to be reversed back into your Debit account.
