Overpriced and disappointing.
Pros:

Breakfast chosen by us was ok. Location was handy for our trip. Free car parking was convenient.

Cons:

Mess in car park. Shabby decor. Broken lock on door, curtains in various rooms not hung correctly, dead bulbs in lights, toilet rim not cleaned, carpet edges taped in doorways, too much clutter, dog mess on decking outside room window and generally scruffy outside.

It very much suited our purpose and it was possible to have an evening meal and a good breakfast, too.

Pros:

Good prime location. Quirky.

Cons:

The pillows were old and flat, absolutely no bounce in them at all.
A beautiful 4 poster bed with no headboard and pillows that kept toppling over.
No fan, apparently they were all out. No excuse for this considering the heat we have been dealing with.
The room was stifling, with only the window to circulate any air. Which resulted in zero sleep due to the noise from the busy road.
People knocking on other doors and shouting most of the night and a dof barking.
Disappointed is a bit of an understatement really.

Pros:

Old fashion atmosphere. Room itself it was more then I could hope. Very lovely stay. Bed was very comfortable

My room faced main street. Was a bit load in night time.

Great place to Eat, Drink and watch Sport, loved it.
Pros:

The staff were so friendly and helpful, great selection of beers etc, food very reasonable and decent pub food, the locals were so friendly, the place is like a live museum, we loved it and would certainly stay there again.

Now this is not a Hilton or Park Plaza, so be mindful of what you get for the price, just a great place to stay and unwind, a 5 min walk into the City centre.

Pros:

Lovely helpful staff, beautiful rooms, quiet at night, very nice food and drinks, lovely atmosphere. Close to town centre, comfortable bed, large spacious rooms. TV worked perfectly, bathroom extremely clean.

Cons:

Dust in bedroom, especially on side table near bed and on mirror near bed ect . I suffer from a major dust allergy. Kettle needs descaling as there was a lot of limescale inside. No drinking glasses in the room.

No hairdryer. Couldnt open the window so really hot and airless. No fan. No food available Sunday and Monday evenings

Enjoyable. Oldy worldy. Ideal for town and the open air cinema at Markeaton Park.
Pros:

Old rusty hotel. Full of character. Helpful staff.

Cons:

Smelt a little mouldy. Wished the bar was open longer.
