How close to racecourse and the centre of Chester
Paid for breakfast in advance , but to get a full English you had to pay an extra £10 , you got a continental but not much to choose from toast n jam , croissant fruit and yogurt and porridge very poor breakfast.
Location
Nothing

Great facilities
£20 parking
Nothing !!
The shower flooded and raw sewage came out of it. We got changed to another room and that was just as bad for the knocks on the wall considering the room would cost you over £300 a night I’ve stayed in better premier inns. Red wine all over the curtains and this was in the room that’s up to £300 a night totally shocking other stains on the curtains but I’m not even going there .
Management knowingly put us in a room where there has been complaints about the very loud noise from the ventilation system (room 102).
I have emailed to complain but no response
Nice location with lovely views.
Would re book.
Continental breakfast poor standard.
Room no better than a premier inn room which would have been much cheaper!
The room access security system is very good and the reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
The Bistro restaurant service was way under par, as there was a long delay in delivering food and, in one case, the main course was not delivered and had to be re-ordered. The solution to this problem is better supervision of staff.
The room was nice and clean the bed was comfy
The aircon didnt work and it was really hot
The bed was comfortable the air con worked well
In a hotel of this standard the offer of breakfast which is basically a continental meal is fairly pathetic, having to pay extra on top of the additional charge for a proper breakfast is dreadful,we never bothered ,the room was very tired looking, the tv buzzed when the volume was turned up no channel guide available on screen,no plugs by the bed ,one of the bedside lamps was not working,,the shower is cramped and shower head clogged up and dirty, and no room service which I definitely expected, wouldn't stay again
We paid for this in October 2025 but when we arrived they stated breakfast is only continental unless you paid a lot of money extra they claim the new rules started in January 2026 so they should have honoured our booking which included breakfast it took plenty of arguing for them to agree to it, I urge NO ONE to book breakfast there is many cheaper and better breakfasts elsewhere, I have been her a few year on trot and this spoiled our stay.
arguing with staff over breakfast
The room was great and spotlessly clean. The position was lovely with views over the racecourse and well positioned for the city centre and the ancient walls.
The "buffet" breakfast was extremely limited to just cereal, fruit and hot drinks then we could choose one item from the menu and a juice. Any cooked food cost extra. I have never come across such a limited breakfast choice without paying extra. We had paid for bed and breakfast and none of these limitations were mentioned at booking.
The car park was also an extra charge at £20 per day! I expected to pay for parking but this was a lot.

We had a wonderful experience, and a big part of that was thanks to Khaye. From the moment we arrived, she was warm, professional, and attentive to our needs. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our visit.
Her friendly attitude, excellent communication, and dedication to providing great customer service truly stood out. It’s rare to come across someone so passionate about making guests feel comfortable and valued.
Thank you, Khaye, for making our experience so enjoyable. We highly recommend this place and look forward to returning in the future!
