One night wasn't enough. Would have liked to stay longer.
Pros:

Perfect location. Short walk to main shopping streets and walkable to the TSB and Hnry stadiums and train station.Very friendly staff. Nice selection of food in cafes. Lovely old building, full of character with large rooms and big comfortable beds. Also very quiet for an inner city hotel. I was travelling with a family member and they kindly gave us rooms next to each other. Mine was a free upgrade.

Cons:

Only one thing. The screen on the side of the bath was hard to move. I turned the shower on and the water was too hot. I found it very difficult to move the screen out of the way to turn the water temperature down. I ended up just reaching through the hot water to turn it down. My travelling companion had the same problem when trying to run the bath.

Hotel served its purpose which was to be near the railway station. It’s a charming unique building.
Pros:

Unstaffed check-in was easy. Good instructions by email on how to get into hotel after hours. Liked the beautiful historic building, amazing staircase and old fashioned lift that was a little temperamental.

Cons:

The bathroom layout was cramped, especially the small corner that the toilet had been positioned in. It did have a massive claw foot bath which looked stunning, but didn’t have time to sample it.

Splendid atmospheric historic hotel
Pros:

A lovely, atmospheric hotel reeking with history. Spotlessly clean and really quiet. Staff were lovely, although front desk times are limited. Perfectly located for downtown and the quayside. Like living in a palace.
