Some good. Some disappointing
Pros:

The staff, location and cleanliness were good.

Cons:

1) Our keys didn’t work so we had to go back down to the front desk to get new keys. Wouldn’t have been so bad probably if it wasn’t late and we weren’t exhausted.
2) After a long day in the heat all I wanted was a shower and to go to bed. The water was ice cold. This was about 11:30pm.

Staff kindness
Pros:

I stayed with my disabled young son, staff was friendly and kind to him! After 3 days my son was giving high fives to staff as he rolled by. 2 people stood out as extra kind and patient, Timothy and Renee. Timothy went out of his way to speak to my son to make him feel welcome. Renee was the sweetest bar tender!!! She was kind, thoughtful and went above and beyond. She respectfully asked about our trip, my son is part of a medical research study at Duke. She spoke to me with interest in us and our journey. She celebrated successes with my son's treatment. Her kindness was incredible and Renee truly made our stay great.

Business trip made better by hotel staff
Pros:

I’ve stayed in many Marriott properties and this was one of the nicest from A decor, customer service, room layout. Breakfast was quite tasty. Bartender Renée was warm and welcoming, and made working in the lobby. Much more enjoyable.

Excellent customer service
Pros:

Excellent experience. Great location. The manager on duty was Asia. She was friendly, professional, and took care of all of the needs that we had. Willow made us feel like we were at a place that cared about its customers. And a very full breakfast on Sunday morning.

Would stay there again.
Pros:

Convenient to I40. Comfortable room. Free breakfast and parking. With the help of Jose at the front desk we were able to stay a second night without changing rooms which was really helpful in our situation.
I took off one star because one of the two elevators was out of order.

Good customer service from Jose
Pros:

To make a long story short, we arrived very late to the hotel and were charged the wrong rate. The night receptionist suggested we get some rest and speak to the manager in the morning to get our payment straightened out. We checked out in the morning before the manager arrived but Jose was working reception and he handled everything to our satisfaction right then and there, while also juggling the phones and lobby guests. Jose and his bright smile couldn’t have been kinder.

The hotel itself was as expected for a Spring Hill Suites. No complaints.

Great hotel. Better staff. Excellent stay.
Pros:

Amazing guest service!!
Renèe at the bar was THE BEST. I went to the bar for a post-meeting drink and stayed for 3 hours because of her hospitality and guest service. My only recommendation would be to expand the bar so that more people can enjoy the atmosphere she creates.

Great service! Even greater bar experience!
Pros:

The stay was amazing. Room service cleaned up well and always provided great service! There was always someone at the counter being attentive and helpful. And big shout out to Renee at the bar! She was so incredibly friendly and made some specialty cocktails that were better than some cocktails I can get back home! Made sure to visit her nearly every night as her company and laughter was infectious! Will be back on my next trip!

All fine except the unreal tub situation.
Pros:

Breakfast was fine, although I'd have liked to have some sort of breakfast meat like bacon or sausage, which wasn't on the buffet (hot buffet was eggs and potatoes with garlic -- a little overwhelming for breakfast, but that might just be my taste at 7 a.m.)

Cons:

I requested a room with a tub when I made my reservation. I repeated the request when I arrived at the site and the man at the desk wasn't sure if the room had a tub, so he asked a woman who was also working the desk if the room he was assigning us had a tub. She said it did. When we looked in the room it did not have a tub, causing me to leave my wife and all our baggage on the 3rd floor and return to the lobby to request a room change. A new person was behind the desk (apparently the shift changed moments after our 3 p.m. arrival) and the previous two workers were nowhere to be seen. I explained the tub situation and the new desk person assigned us a new room, this one on the 4th floor. When I returned to the 3rd floor and moved all our stuff up to the 4th floor room, again there was no tub. This time my wife, who has a disability and really appreciates a tub for soaking her legs, (we were in town for a consultation on knee replacement surgery for her) just told me not to bother trying to get another new room since the desk folks seemed not to know where rooms including tubs were. Anyway, everything else was OK, but the tub situation would have provided material for a comedian's satire and still seems like a bad joke.

Friendly and clean
Pros:

The room is clean and well taken care of. There is a lot of places to dine with in walking distance. Also if you forgot some walmart is just across the street. The staff was very friendly as well. Lucy was very pleasant to work with at the front desk.

Great staff but you may not get breakfast on a crowded day
Pros:

We stayed here when moving my son into UNC Chapel Hill. We were excited for orientation and for his new adventure as a college student! This hotel has friendly staff at the front desk. Lucy and the others were all great! I would do 5 stars if not for breakfast. Towards the end of the week, it got really busy because of college move-in day and they didn’t have enough food. The hot food was done at 8:40and when I asked about it, the lady told me they close at 9 so they’re done cooking. Another lady told me it was already done 10 min earlier than when I asked. I certainly irritated the breakfast lady with all my questions, asking for a bowl, any food, milk, napkins.. you get the idea. They should plan for hotel capacity on any given day. They could have checked at 8:30 and seen it needs a refill and so cook more. Or even better, they could’ve checked at 8 AM and saw it was half empty or whatever at that point and cook some eggs.

Exceptional customer service.
Pros:

Reservation had a few hiccups but, Lucy at the front desk went way above and beyond to make sure things were fixed and help anyway she could. Greatly appreciated! That alone made the experience top tier.
