Pros:

We choose to stay in Gudvangen rather than Flam.
Not as busy as Flam. Good view of fjord. Rustic atmosphere and rooms appear to have been recently refurbished. Staff was friendly and helped where they could. However

Cons:

Please clean under the beds!
The sewage system was overflowing. The repair team arrived early on the Monday morning. The problem did not start during the weekend but has been like that for some time. It should have been prepared a lot earlier.
The above and the price left a bad smell in our minds.

Stunning location, excellent rooms. 10/10
Pros:

I thought we had booked an apartment but I think we ended up with a Viking Room. I'm not sure if the mistake was by me, the hotel, or Booking.com. Regardless, the Viking Room was stunning. The viking-themed decor was fun without overdoing it, and the facilities were all great, including 2 good lounge chairs, and coffee/tea facilities. The windows and skylights allowed us to take in some of Gudvangen's stunning scenery from our room. We visited in early May and night light through the skylight didn't bother us, though we had eye masks (can't remember if we used them). Breakfast was good too.

Now, not about the hotel itself, but Gudvangen itself is stunning. And in the evening and early morning, when most of the other travellers have gone on to another destination, the quietness was beautiful. If you're going that way, I strongly recommend an overnight stay in Gudvangen.

Man stelle sich vor der Eigner der Autobahnraststätte hat neben 50 Busparkplätzen ein Bungalow mit 10 Zimmern gebaut und verpflegt die Gäste im 1000 personen sb Restaurant gleich mit. 3 essen ala cart mit blick zum souvenir shop .

Posto speciale sul fiordo
Pros:

Ho apprezzato la posizione perché è un posto magico, immerso nella natura con una vista spettacolare sul fiordo. Ci è piaciuto molto che dal tetto della camera fatta di vetrate abbiamo potuto ammirare le cascate sulle montagne sdraiati sul letto. Dalle vetrate entrava luce giorno e notte ma per noi non è stato un problema.
I gestori sono stati molto disponibili.
Colazione a buffet molto ricca e varia. Bella esperienza che ricorderò con piacere.

Cons:

Il bagno con la tenda scura in doccia rendeva cupo l'ambiente.
