Hotel Christiania Teater

The design and the rooms we chose were spacious. The ladies in the reception were so sweet. Super loved all ballerina hanged arts and the beautiful chandeliers. The slippers were the best part - they were super comfortable and had "Drama" written on one pair and "Queen" on another; how cute! They even managed to make us enjoy the slow elevator- very creative.

Oslo was the last stay of our journey, started in Haugesund 9 days before. Christiania Theater Hotel is really worth to stay.
Why?
Already the check-in was such a great experience. Lone at the front desk was not only very professionell, but so supportive with some first things to do in Oslo. She made us feel not being the first time here. Great. And this is, how the rest of our 3-days stay moved on. Amazing atmosphere - plus a really good breakfest, too. Located nearby the Oslo City Hall, it‘s a perfect hub to discover the town…👍🏻

The location was perfect, walkable everywhere. The atmosphere very welcoming, and the staff very helpful and well informed, in particular Selena, Lone and Mathilde. Selena and Lone made excellent restaurant recommendations and made the reservations for us, which definitely made our life easier.

Great hotel with a lot of history and charming atmosphere. The staff is very service minded and greet you with a big smile. They all made our two day business stay very pleasant. Mathilde in the front desk was very helpful and have that kind of positive energy you would like to be welcomed by.
Will be staying here again.

The biggest issue was the clear mismatch between what is advertised and what is actually delivered. The room and hotel information promote services such as room service, bathrobes, slippers, and other amenities, stating that guests can simply call reception. However, when I did, I was told I had to go to the restaurant to order and pick up the food myself, and also collect items like a bathrobe from reception. This is not what most guests would expect when booking a hotel in this category.
Breakfast was also disappointing, mainly due to the lack of service. There was no greeting, no smile, and no sense of being welcomed by the staff. Even simple hospitality standards like eye contact and a “good morning” were missing, which affected the overall atmosphere.
That said, I would like to highlight one positive aspect: the receptionist on duty the following day was very kind, professional, and genuinely tried to resolve the situation after I shared my feedback. Her attitude made a noticeable difference.
I have visited the restaurant at this hotel years ago and had a much better experience back then, which made this stay feel even more disappointing.
Overall, the hotel has potential, but it needs to ensure that its service matches what is being advertised and to focus more on the guest experience—especially when it comes to basic hospitality and communication.

The location is ideal, close to the theater and within walking distance of the various museums.
The room was nice but somewhat dated as to electrical outlets.
