A fabulous stay. 5 🤩’s.
Pros:

We had a fabulous stay last month at Palazzo Velabro.
It is a beautiful property, in a great location.
We were in a suite on the fifth floor. It was large, spacious and beautifully appointed. The two terraces were lovely to sit on and look out of the rooftops and monuments in Rome.
The breakfast and room service were delicious!
The public areas were all lovely.
All of the staff were friendly, processional and attentive.
I travelled with my elderly mother and she wasn’t well when we arrived, after a long trip from Australia. I would like to thank Vittorio who organised a Doctor to come to the hotel and continued to check on how my Mother was, during our stay.
He also made numerous suggestions of where to visit. Thank you Vittorio!
Alessandra was friendly, processional and a pleasure to deal with from the time she checked us in, until the time we left.
She also suggested a three hour golf cart tour of Rome and was able to organise it with little notice. We loved the golf cart tour with Diego. Thank you Alessandra.
Both Alessandra and Vittorio are an asset to the property.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Palazzo Velabro and I will definitely stay there on my next trip to Rome.

Visoka cijena, ne sasavim opravdano
Pros:

Dizajn, lokacija, doručak

Cons:

Nedostaje ormara ili polica, nema zvučnika za slušanje glazbe, gradilište odmah iz prozor, buka prometa je izrazita, prozori se zbog toga moraju drzati zatvoreni

Beware of the Stairs! Don’t believe the picture of the door opening to the street!
Pros:

Excellent service by all except one fellow in the restaurant who told us Riesling was a Roman wine, slow walked our pasta order, and failed to provide service or explantation for the very slow service.

The street to the front entrance is impassable, so taxis drop you or pick you up down a stairs or a 150 meter walk away. The management does not instruct receptionists on the truth, so they simply say we can’t do anything. I’m 82 and have some mobility issues.i would never have booked here if I knew the situation with the stairs!

Service by front desk and breakfast crew was excellent!

A Delightful Stay
Pros:

What a GREAT boutique hotel. The room was wonderful, with a backyard view that was truly mind-blowing. The bathroom was excellent. The mattress was excellent. Service was absolutely top-flight. A great location for walking about. A marvelous, complimentary breakfast. Yes: Somewhat pricey . . . but worth every Euro!

Great value for money with nice design and polite and friendly staff
Pros:

Wonderful and very tentative staff that catered to our every need. We travelled with an 18 month old baby and had some special requests on the spot regarding his diet and they were very considerate and went out of their way to help us. Very nice rooms - actually nicer in person than in the pictures. Very nice terrace for drinks and small bites. Free minibar is a nice touch even though we didn't use it. Would definitely recommend it and would come back. Maybe not perfect for families, but perfect for couples, friends or business trips.

Cons:

Only one towel hook on the wall in the entire bathroom. I will never understand this "policy" that I frequently find in many hotels. It is small details like this that unnecessarily ruin the whole experience as you don't have a place to dry your used towels. Also, not the easiest to access the elevator with a baby stroller as you have a few sets of up and down stairs you need to go through before reaching them, but it is an old structure (modernly refurbished) so there is no way around it. Sometimes might feel a bit understaffed as you can wait a bit longer to get you food order, or to get someone to come take your order, but other than that, everything was great.

Solid choice, value ok
Pros:

Great little hotel.
30+ rooms and very authentic. Modern Italian look and feel. Very stylish. Breakfast of great quality however there are also some downsides of the hotel.
- child friendliness is given, however they charge a huge amount extra, despite the children stay free Bonvoy policy. This makes the hotel take a hit at the value pOV and hence 1 star deduction as this is also not clarified beforehand.
- AC was turned of in April. For 450€ I expect to use it any day of the year
- showered changes from warm to hot in an instant all the time, and then back again.
- breakfast is good, however a lot of items cost extra. This is usually included for a room price of 450€ in other hotels.
- Bonvoy advantages are very limited as it is a design hotel. Basically for us it was one free drink, no upgrade etc.as it was fully booked
- gym is super small. Not really something g usable for myself but a nice addition nonetheless
- cinema is a great idea. However they do charge you 10€ pP to watch a movie. And not a movie that you choose but one that they choose.

So basically: good hotel but they try and get more money out of you wherever they can. Which is not great.

Not going back
Pros:

We stayed at Palazzo Velabro, a Design Hotel member an d I would not recommend it.

We had 3 rooms, two paying cash and myself on points. We booked rooms with "courtyard views".

Their rooms were on the 4th floor, mine was the handicap room on the bottom floor with an alley outside my window where cases of return bottles were stacked. I did not get breakfast and when I inquired as to why I was told they weren't a member of Bonvoy, they were a Design Hotel.

Why did they take my points then? Why did those who paid get Bonvoy Points?

The hotel was nice but the policies and attitudes expressed by management weren't.

We stayed 3 nights and after speaking several times to layers of management I was grudgingly moved to a 2nd floor non-handicap room.

Location isn't great, I wouldn't stay there again, cash or points.

Oh, let me add that on our last night we were awakened at 0200 by a fire alarm and told to evacuate. We all stood outside, it was cold, for 20 minutes, no explanation or
" I'm sorry" given

Just my .02

В этом месте чувствуешь себя как в гостях у дальних родственников: вы вроде и мало знакомы, но ты чувствуешь как о тебе
Pros:

Cons:

Не понравилось только то, что нет возможности на такси подъехать прямо к отелю, поэтому нужно быть готовым дотащить свой багаж по лестнице до входа.

Hidden Gem Hotel in Roma!
Pros:

Loved the property, everything was above expectations! The location is prime and makes Palazzo Velabro such a hidden gem. The Rooms are spacious and the service and staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and help to bring the Roma experience all together. Plenty of amenities as well and the Apicio 16 restaurant is phenomenal. Special shoutout to our check-in concierge member, Domiziana and her team really helped my family settle in fast and got oriented to go enjoy Rome.
