Central, close to the castle and excellent cuisine
Location and room
The aircon in our room was in our opinion not working as it should but the staff dismissed our comments saying that because of the heatwave it was as cold as it would get . However we had stayed in 3 different hotels that week before this one and the temps were higher and all their aircon units worked fine !
Also when we arrived at approx 1.30 pm , half an hour before the check in ie between 2 - 3pm the person on reception said that he would phone me to tell us when our room was ready , so we went off for a late lunch but he never phoned . Once we got back just after 3pm a different person on reception told us the room had been ready for sometime .
La suite royale avec Clim bouilloire café thé eau immense et petite terrasse devant ainsi que la magnifique piscine . Le parking appréciable.

Location, cost, ambience, facilities, staff, food service...this hotel has it all! Especially if you are looking for a hotel for a group that requires multiple rooms. Less than a 5 minute walk from the river and old town area with easy access to all of Amboise's major sites. Will stay here again and again.
Loved our stay at Le Clos. Friendly welcome and staff very pleasant. The ambiance throughout is great. Our room was very comfortable. The breakfast had good options and was fairly priced. Good bike storage with plugs for charging.

This hotel has a beautiful property, extremely old structure but a very nice staff. Unfortunately our room had a terrible odor of spilled milk, which they blamed on the AC, but they were unable to resolve. I hesitate to bash the whole place since it is a unique place

Le Clos d’Amboise has it all - friendly staff, great food, beautiful courtyard and amazing proximity to restaurants and wine caves! We had such a wonderful time visiting and can’t wait to return.
Lovely ambiance, to have on site parking was a massive bonus in a very compact town and the restaurant was fabulous

Cadre exceptionnel. On a l impression d être chez soi. L appartement est très bien équipé pour un séjour en famille. La décoration est magnifique et soignée pour rester dans l’ambiance de l hôtel même si on est un peu à l’écart. L’accès au centre ville est très facile à pied.
Attention à l escalier. Même si cela ne nous a pas posé de soucis.
I strongly recommend this hotel. We found the staff welcoming and helpful (they even made restaurant reservations for us when their restaurant couldn't accommodate us), and an excellent value. Our room was well equipped (including storage area + sitting area), cozy and had a very comfortable bed. Moreover, it was quiet even though it was next to the reception. The location was excellent to enjoy sightseeing in Amboise.
