We have stayed here twice before so knew what to expect and had one of the two disabled rooms off the car park. The staff were friendly and helpful. No breakfast is served so it was across the road to the Red Lion for breakfast and dinner.
The places needs a bit of TLC to remedy some small faults and some new decoration.
Nothing really - and I have already emailed this all to booking.com and had no response
Black mould in shower and on shower hose. Had to rinse the black muck off the shower hose to be able to use shower.
Room was completely airless. Curtains were not blackout curtains as I had been promised so street lights kept us awake.
Mattresses were lumpy with uncomfortable springs poking into one.
2 Colleagues in twin asked for separate keys - not able to supply. One colleague had to wake up the other to access room.
WiFi not working in some of the rooms.
I would like a full refund as I and my colleagues in the other 4 rooms had virtually no sleep. We ere unable to leave the hotel and move elsewhere as all hotels in the area were full due to the Global Bird Fair on in Rutland that weekend.
Very friendly, warm staff, couldn't do enough to help us feel welcome and relaxed. Price point was excellent, rooms were clean and our accessible room was very good....although the 5" to 6" drop on the step down into the room caused quite a bad jolt on my poor hip when entering the room - but the staff were very apologetic and extremely helpful when I mentioned it. They even helped to lift my powered wheelchair over the offending step when we left!

The staff are nice.
I got bitten by insects at night. The room needs a proper clean. I now have to apply antiseptic cream for seven days until I feel better.
Was under impression because of review that breakfast was available

Walking distance to town
It was a hot day so the room was quite warm.
Didn’t know breakfast was available but had breakfast in the red lion opposite and it was lovely
It was a bit old and tired and smelled like tobacco even though there weee no smoking signs up

No breakfast available. A cafe down the road was suggested but turned out to be closed on Sunday anyway

Good location in the town and good access to motorways..
NOTHING
The shower in room 2 was full of black mould. The shower hose was covered in so much black mould that I had to wash it off to use the shower. The curtain did not close properly so we had to sleep with it open with light from the street and a very early dawn. So no sleep at all.
We moved to room 10 for the next 4 nights. Basin had a plug that was stuck as there was no plug chain to pull it up - took 2 days for that to be resolved. Room was not serviced. Towels were left in shower, as per instructions on the notice, to be replaced were not replaced and had to be re-used all wet and dirty.
Twin room - room 11 - we requested a second key as each person needed their own access . This was not available so the person already asleep had to be woken up for second person to get into the room
