They cancelled my booking, did not call me or text me; just sent an email 3 hours before I was suppose to check in.
I tried my best to be polite to reception staff, they just told me I should have checked my emails.... This would have been fine but I dont check my emails frequently and was out for food with my old university friends.
No calls, no text, just came in at 2230 to a cancellation, no where else open in town to stay at this time so had to spend the night in town until my first train home.
Luckily im male and built in a way where i can protect myself. Wonder how my night would have been if i was a young female.... I mentioned this to the staff, they said gender had nothing to do with it. Made me think about my teeenage daughter and what a vulnerable position it would have put her in.
O hotel fica localizado numa área muito bonita, apesar de longe da área turistica no centro
Cafe da manhã com poucas opções

Absolutely gorgeous location with terrace and garden next to the river. Easy to get to without getting caught up in Bath centre traffic.
Nothing much to not like. Car parking is cosy, but adequate. The building appearance doesn't flatter, but more than compensated by location and surroundings.
Location next to the toll bridge and the water wheel.
Paying for parking.
Location was amazing
Parking was tight.
Was extremely hot with limited fans no aircon
Location was nice
Parking and had to pay £10 extra
Long wait on drinks and food in a hot dining room
Service was slow
Location
Breakfast and no air-conditioning
Didn’t realise the lodge was a separate block more like motel rooms. Very small, very hot it was during the very hot weather. Window handle hanging off, hit knee on sink unit when using the toilet and I’m tiny. Fan in bathroom not working, carpet grubby
Staff informed us they are knocking the lodge down and building luxury lodge 4star
Wonderful location so let’s see when upgrade is completed how well done it is
Staff very nice especially Ellie (manager I think) lovely girl
Tiny room, tired and not very clean. Broken window handle generally the lodge building in desperate need of upgrade
So disappointed
Beautiful location in a lovely area with an interesting history - both as a mill and being on the Toll Bridge itself. We were very lucky with the room as it had a double aspect, looking out towards the river on one side and over the Toll Bridge from the other. The room itself was clean and well looked after with coffee, tea and cream.
The bathroom was good over all with a powerful, modern shower unit.
The couple of staff we met were friendly and helpful.
We were able to park in the Mill's car park which was great. We were told clearly in advance that this was an extra cost and that you were not guaranteed a place, so maybe we were just lucky.
We happened to go on the hottest day of the year (it was 33 degrees in the day) and there is no air conditioning. They had thoughtfully put a fan in the room and by midnight with the windows open and a fan we had got the room down to around 26. This did mean we couldn't have any lights on because we found out in the bathroom that immediately hundreds of insects swarmed in if you did that!
This is an unusual situation of course and not something most people would ever have to deal with so unless you really want air conditioning then this is not a deal breaker.
Other than that...... the building is in need of some TLC and it was understaffed.
The breakfast was a small choice, low quality continental with just cheap ham and cheese - not even a tomato in sight. When we arrived we had to sit down for a while with another couple waiting to get a table. Not because they were all taken, but because there was one lady catering for all the guests at breakfast, clearing tables, replenishing supplies and also manning the reception desk upstairs for checking out! Still, you had the bonus of being able to watch a working water wheel turning round which was lovely.
In beautiful surroundings, a historically interesting and romantic place to stay with just a couple of elements that might put some people off - we really enjoyed our stay.
I LOVE THE PLACE THE ROOM WAS NOT NICE THIS TIME
The smell in the room. And cold.
Great location, generally good facilities and comfortable when staying in the main building.
Restaurant hours not very flexible so didn’t use
Great location, really lovely walk along the canal to the center of town. Lovely view over the river - think we got our room upgraded, so we had a perfect view.
In need of a deep clean. Obvs the parking fee is not ideal, but it was advertised via email in advance.
Location was stunning. Easy access to buses into city centre.
Room spacious with good lighting.
No air-conditioning on the hottest day of the year.
WiFi was useless, wouldn't connect to my phone.
Breakfast was very disappointing. No hot food, other than toast.
Beautiful spot, nice people and close to bus stops for hassle free trips to and from Bath city center
Every thing you could want
