Modern and spotless
Pros:

Great apartment in beautiful town. We chose the newer apartments one block back from the water but very happy with privacy and quiet spot. Everything we needed was available. Secure garage parking.

The boat house was in the perfect location, nice and modern with a lovely view from the bed. The owners were lovely and very helpful, we ended up staying an extra night.

Pros:

Great location, very spacious and modern room. Nice balcony. Great to have Sky and heating was nice and warm. Great selection of tea and coffee and loved that there was real milk!

Cons:

The sofa bed was not very comfortable hence not a perfect score but everything else was very good.

A famous inn, in a legendary town. Worth the drive from Auckland. Even in the rain.
Pros:

The boat shed is tucked away perfectly back from the Strand, offering water and boat views without passing foot traffic. As a relatively late addition to this historical lodge, the room felt brand new. I initially booked the wrong date, but the property cheerfully refunded, and I rebooked straight away. The reception staff were still there waiting for us even though we were quite a bit later than our original ETA.

Cons:

We picked a bad weather weekend, but in such a fantastic location, a quick dash along the Strand delivered many excellent dining options in the eve, and a bakery and coffee shop across the road in the morning.
