Beautiful setting, but unfortunately not the four-star experience we expected for the price.
Pros:

The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the outdoor area by the sea is lovely, with plenty of loungers and bean bags and direct access to the water. The pool area is also very pretty. Our bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was perfectly functional and our room was kept very clean throughout our stay with fresh towels regularly provided. The housekeeping staff were particularly lovely and reception staff were pleasant and helped to book a return taxi to the port. The walk into Hvar Town takes around 20–25 minutes and is very scenic along the coast.

Cons:

Unfortunately, for the price we paid and the hotel’s four-star rating, we expected a much higher standard overall. The room felt quite dark and dated and our first-floor balcony was directly beside frequently used steps, meaning there was very little privacy and we didn’t feel comfortable sitting outside.

While the outdoor setting is beautiful, the pool itself is quite small and there are only a small number of loungers directly around it. Some were shaded by greenery for much of the day while the others had no shade, and we found the lack of parasols around the outdoor lounging areas disappointing. The hotel also advertises a private beach area, but during our stay this appeared to be easily accessible to and regularly used by members of the public.

Breakfast was particularly disappointing for a four-star hotel. The selection was limited and repetitive throughout our six-night stay, with drinks and coffee from machines and surprisingly few basic options. This put us off trying other meals at the hotel, particularly given the prices on the menu.

We also found the service at the bar quite unfriendly and inattentive. On several occasions we weren’t acknowledged for some time despite the bar being quiet. We also noticed glasses and bottles left around the pool area overnight and still there the following morning.

We also felt that some of the additional touches we might expect from a four-star hotel were missing. On arrival at Hvar port, we noticed several other hotels offering complimentary luggage collection for their guests. Hotel Podstine could arrange a taxi at the local rate, but did not offer a similar luggage service. This wasn’t a major issue on its own, but added to the overall feeling that the experience lacked some of the service and attention to detail we expected at this price point.

Finally, although the walk into Hvar Town is beautiful, there are quite a few steps along the route, which may be worth considering for anyone with limited mobility.

Pros:

A l'écart du centre de Hvar, au calme avec un accès privilégié à la mer.
Transats au bord de l'eau et nombreux petits coins ombragés où l'on peut siroter une boisson fraîche.
Personnel aimable et serviable.

Séjour parfait
Pros:

L emplacement est parfait près de Hvar, village très animé. Il faut compter 20 min à pieds.
Le cadre est très reposant. La plage privée sur les rochers et dalle, est parfaite. Le petit déjeuner est très bien. Le personnel est très attentif et agréable.
Hôtel de très bon standing, cossu. Nous y retournerons très volontiers.
L excursion proposée pour la blue Cave sur un bateau de 10 personnes était vraiment très très bien, à faire! (sachant que nous n aimons pas les excursions de groupes ).

Cons:

La salle de bain est un peu vieillotte ( cabine de douche)

Thoroughly enjoyable stay at lovely hotel in stunning seafront location!
Pros:

The seafront location is fantastic with great swimming straight from the hotel and stunning views! The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Wide selection at breakfast too.

Cons:

We loved everything. My only suggestion would be to have a few more options for lunch at the beach bar as it’s a 20 min walk to town.

A general cheapness
Pros:

So this is a strange place some good, some bad. There was a general cheapness about the hotel, no instant coffee, mediocre breakfast, Tito - communist- styled bathrooms and most seriously NO umbrellas by the sea seats. How is that possible? However, our sea view room - with the prison bathroom- was pretty and large and most importantly nothing will beat jumping into the Adriatic off the hotel’s dock.

En liten bit att gå till stan. Men eftersom hotellet istället ligger på en lugn plats är det värt det.
