Château de Saint Paterne

This is the hotel of my dreams. It has such a relaxed vibe but one which oozes class and finesse. The staff were so friendly and accommodating but quietly doing their tasks and not intrusive. The actual building and all the furniture and fittings are incredible. Like entering another world. Huge grounds and a lovely pool. We loved the honesty bar, and the sense of wellbeing that this venue creates. Chat between guests freely flowed. We had 2 evening meals and breakfast. All the food was delicious. The owners and staff team have created something quite wonderful. I don't give a property 10 very often but this 10 was easy!

Great breakfast in a lovely room, location very private and secure with locked gates at night. Dinner on the lawn was a great experience, nice outdoor swimming pool/sauna/tub.

What an incredible way to end our European road trip. From the moment we arrived, Château de Saint-Paterne felt like something straight out of a Walt Disney fairytale. The château is full of character, beautifully maintained, and set in stunning surroundings.

The secure courtyard parking was excellent and gave me complete confidence leaving my Porsche there overnight, which was greatly appreciated.

The hospitality was exceptional. Every member of staff made us feel like VIP guests, and the owner personally came to introduce herself and welcome us, which was a lovely personal touch that immediately made us feel at home.

The evening dining experience was superb. Everything was impeccably organised, the service was attentive without being intrusive, and the food was of an outstanding standard. Every course was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious—truly the sort of fine dining experience you would expect from a five-star establishment.

This château has charm, elegance and warmth in equal measure. It was the perfect place to finish our trip, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic French château experience with exceptional hospitality.

Old world charm with everything you could want in a hotel but with a lovely family home atmosphere.

The grounds were beautiful. Excellent pool and very friendly staff. Lovely woods all around. Dinner on the lawn with excellent food from the set menu.

Absolutely perfect for the first night of our holiday. The evening meal in the garden was particularly lovely.

Beautifully kept surroundings.

It was a surprise from beginning to ending. Our forrest hideway was incredible to sleep. From your bed we looked into the trees. We reserved just an hour before arrival and were asked to join the pre dinner drinks and dinner. It was amazing. Loved all of it.

We stayed at Chateau de Saint Paterene on our way back from Bordeaux to England. Located on the outskirts of Alencon, and just a few minutes off the motorway, the location is very convenient and feels like you're in the middle of the countryside. Our room was charming and very comfortable. We enjoyed strolling around the grounds and dinner on the lawn with an apero reception in the evening, which was relaxing and meant we didn't have to drive anywhere. Breakfast was plentiful and served in the beautiful dining room overlooking the grounds. There is an honesty bar too. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is nothing not to like...and being in the business, we can be really picky. We would be very happy to return again.
