Quiet location (note, there were very few guests due to being during the week rather than an event weekend). Room (no. 6) twin/double ensuite with garden views was a very pleasant room to stay in.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Full English was excellent (bacon was well-cooked) and veggie breakfast was also very good. We had an evening meal and prices were competitive with gastropubs and the quality was excellent.
Bar prices were ok but a little on the high side. Would have been nice to see some local bottled beers but also good that there was one bottled ale rather than none.
Access to footpaths nearby and 15 minute walk to main road for buses to Hartlepool and Peterlee.
Slightly high bar prices (small discount for those staying might be an idea?)
Staff were brilliant and the food was great they obviously have a very good chef and team
Room was very good apart from the water problem and shower
The shower was poor the water trickled through so not good
Cold water tap again was a trickle we reported it on the second day of our stay but by day four when we left it was still poor
Good location for the purpose of our trip.
Nice breakfast & polite & friendly staff.
Very worn and tired. Shower was terrible, poor flow of water and dirty, bathroom door would not shut either. Bed was far too soft, both had bad backs the next morning.
Lots of peeling wallpaper on landing, whole place just needs a lot of money spending on it.
Decorated in loads of different styles, all needs some sort of bringing together.
Looks lovely from the front of the building, it’s gorgeous, but drive round to park and the place is in a bit of a state and for some reason a used car sales lot in the car park?
It’s such a relaxed atmosphere
Car park ain’t great
Food was very good, portions a bit big for us being older
Bed too soft and very warm, decor was dated, bathroom dark and claustrophbic.
Beautiful setting in a very old Manor. Lovely staff and the breakfast was amazing....especially rhe coffee ☕️ Parking on sight, comfortable rooms with everything you could need. The history of the Manor is still there and that makes the stay even more special. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing stay xx
Staff excellent. Approachable and very helpful.
The building was excellent. Well maintained. The grounds immaculate. Excellent.
The shower had a leak and only just warm but usable.
Very friendly staff, nice property, homely environment. Great breakfast
lovely and clean . lots of hardworking friendly .
nothing to much if we needed it
nothing
Quiet location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and thankfully a fan provided in the room.
Very disappointed with the evening meal. Only 5 small pieces of chicken in the Korma sauce. Naan bread overcooked and solid. Definitely not worth the heavy price.
Staff are extremely friend always there to help food was amazing stake was tender and the grounds on a night where so peaceful and beautiful
Staff on Sunday morning were pleasant, room was ok, breakfast was ok and setting was great, lovely from outside and good base to visit North East.
Room was a bit tired, smell of mould, but then replaced with awful farming smell, when asked to move rooms, the night staff was very dismissive saying they were full, didn't seem too bothered, not apologetic, being full is fine, but offering no empathy or apology is not acceptable.
Staff, hotel, breakfast and location excellent.
Bed very uncomfortable and shower very little pressure
