Go for the day, not for the night.
Pros:

The location is fabulous and the spa is very relaxing. All the staff we encountered were friendly and keen to please.

Cons:

The building is a little tired. The window latches in the bedroom were damaged and loose so that you couldn’t keep the window open on a hot day - there is no a/c - and that made the room uncomfortable. We were on the top floor but the lift was out of order, so we had to carry our bags up 3 flights of stairs. They charge handsomely. Our evening meal was a salad and chicken wings, spaghetti and a burger, 2 deserts and a bottle of wine which totalled £172 including the MANDATORY service charge. Tap water is chargeable. We paid £265 for 1 night and still had to pay £5 to park the car. Breakfast is included but only baked goods. If you want anything hot it’s extra. It just felt like we were being fleeced - we weren’t valued customers, we were cash cows.

An expensive mistake. This was a group of millennial parents with zero control or even basic awareness of their children
Pros:

The food was excellent although the menu did not vary from one day to the next.

Cons:

The outside, which looks like a 1960s Secondary Modern School which sadly is in need of serious repair, and redecoration.
The lack of control from the staff where guests were behaving atrociously with no regard to their own children or other guests.
The breakfast room was, in essence, a scum down, with parents encouraging their children to finger items of food without taking them
and having no powers over their children to stop their appalling behaviour.

Great location, good place to stay, just needs updated facilities list as certain options didn’t really exist like a ten

Great views, location great. Restaurant lovely food. Staff all friendly. Pools, sauna, etc were great

Cons:

Advertised tennis court was basically a car park and not possible to move all cars, get nets to play. Gym was very poor & should really be actual gym not well-being room. Restaurant very expensive. Breakfast not advertised but was extra £8 if wanted any cooked options.

​I would strictly avoid this hotel. Aside from a nice view, our stay was a stressful, overpriced, and thoroughly unpleasant experience from start to finish.
​Exhausting Check-In & Dirty Room: After a 7-hour drive from London, we were forced to wait 2 hours just to check in at an unusually late 4:00 PM. Despite the long delay—which staff claimed was needed for cleaning—our room was dirty, complete with hair left behind in the bathroom.
​Terrible Food & Service: The dining experience was completely rigid. We were refused food upon arrival and told to wait until 5:00 PM for dinner service, leaving us starving. When we finally ate, the food was old, the dessert was stale, and the waitstaff had no idea what they were actually serving.
​No Time to Relax: We were constantly forced to rush. Because dinner was delayed, we had to hurry through our meal just to use the paid spa facilities before they closed early at 8:00 PM. To top it off, check-out was unreasonably early (10:30–11:00 AM), turning a single night into a chaotic race against the clock.
​No Sleep & Loud Noise: The walls offered zero sound insulation—we could hear everything happening outside and barely slept a wink.
​We paid premium prices for cold service, bad food, poor hygiene, and zero relaxation. Never again
