Amplasarea in centru

Die Lage ist top, das Hotel ist zentral gelegen und man kann vieles in Cluj fußläufig erkunden. Eingezäunter Parkplatz direkt hinter dem Hotel. Der Barmann war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Zimmerausstattung ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Eines der beiden Zimmer war beim Einchecken auch nicht richtig gereinigt.

Die Lage war gut
Der Parkplatz war zu eng, man konnte kaum manövrieren. Das Frühstück war schon 1 Stunde vor Ende der normalen Frühstückszeit extrem leergeräumt und selbst auf Nachfragen gab es keine wieder auffüllen der leeren Tabletts mehr. Es gab weder Marmelade noch Saft, der Kaffee war schlecht und Personal nicht hilfreich.

Excellent location, practically in the center of Cluj. Room was good, given the type of the building (19th c. internal courtyard town house) and the price charged. Always clean. Breakfast very, very good with all the staples plus, most days, some delicious examples of home cooking. Staff always professional, correct, and helpful.
The revamped restaurant. Tacky decoration, occasionally veering into outright kitsch, definitely out of tune with the overall architecture and vibe of the hotel building itself. The fancy menu is NOT an improvement on the previous down-to-earth offer, which may have been more suited to the local tastes and culinary traditions. On the one day when, by force of habit, I sat down to have lunch there, two thirds of the items of the menu were not available, the rest was a hit-and-miss attempt at fusion and nouvelle cuisine and vastly overpriced. I do not know what the owner(s)/manager(s) of the restaurant were thinking, but I doubt theirs will be the new place in town where locals and tourists will flock to eat octopus and similar exotic items (especially if they are available only on the printed menu, not actually in the fridge). If guests really want to eat fancy international cuisine in Cluj (as the management seems to think), they have plenty of options just a few steps away from the hotel, and I doubt any additional amount of flashy signs and tacky bling will lure them away from there. I can safely say that next time I stay at the hotel, I will give the restaurant a miss. The server was professional and helpful even though visibly overwhelmed and under some stress.
