South Sands Hotel is absolutely stunning. The cove is beautiful, the setting is gorgeous, and the food is really great.

Location has lovely views but otherwise quite a mediocre experience.
Pros:

The view is great, there is a free car park.

Cons:

Evening meal was not great, mussels served with most of them out of the shell and a bucket of empty shells. A special potato and onion soup lacked any flavour. Generally not great quality food. Breakfast was better but the food nothing to get excited about. Shower temperature varied I assume with other guests as they fiddled with their temperatures. No lift.

Pros:

There is so much to like about the hotel! First the location is fantastic, right on the beach, in easy reach of the town! Great restaurant with good quality menu , including fish and specials of the day!
Staff were friendly and attentive and bedroom rooms and linen were great quality.

Cons:

Difficult to drive to hotel through country lanes.

Beautiful and quite romantic
Pros:

Beautiful cozy hotel right on the beach. There is a good restaurant and bar at the hotel which is a good thing, because it is quite remote from Salcombe. Ideal for a weekend. Remember to book your parking spot as there is absolutely no parking outside of hotel parking lot.

Great relaxing stay and would visit again
Pros:

This location is great for a relaxing get away, very pet friendly and a great place to chill out. The restaurant menu was great and service inside was great.

Cons:

Outside was an amazing deck but this is not waitress service you have to order at a single hatch which can be stressful for the team involved and not always a great reception because of this.
