Prachtig hotel gelegen aan meer

Het was op en top genieten in dit hotel,prachtig gelegen aan het meer,met buitenzwembad en heerlijk veel plaats om lekker te chillen;kamer was ruim met balkon uitkijkend op het meer,avondeten en ontbijt waren heel lekker en fijn verzorgd;heel vriendelijke bediening

A pleasant stay by a lake.
Pros:

Lovely location by the lake. Peaceful. Air con worked and bed very comfy.
The staff worked hard and were pleasant.
A good pit stop en route to/from the euro tunnel.

Cons:

The hotel looks tired. The bedrooms were clean but the need a refurb.
The balconies require work. The railings unsafe and the exterior of the hotel looks poor. Cushions on chairs outside were heavily stained. Just a few changes would make things a lot more presentable. Not sure I would give it 4 stars

All in all great ; we've already booked our next trip.
Pros:

The rooms are great, the view is unbeatable and especially in this warm season, we did appreciate the aircon working properly. There's ample parking space and overall the staff are very friendly. We are frequent visitors so many of the staff recognise us as well.

Cons:

I've been wondering for years now why the kitchen isn't getting more attention.
I'm not saying the menu or the quality are not ok but a lot of improvement could be made.
For instance, the pancakes at breakfast were cold, the bacon is always undercooked and a better quality of sausages should be selected.
Diners are ok but some of the dishes are "incomplete" ; something seems missing.

Also, I usually book for our entire group, so this time we had 5 rooms and upon arrival there was a mixup which was not handled well by the front desk ; first of all, the receptionist was wrong from the get go but even if that weren't the case, you don't argue with your customer, you just solve the issue with a smile ; that's what customer oriented service is all about.

Convenient location
Pros:

Have used this hotel before due to its rural location en-route to Calais. Quiet comfortable room and enjoyed our food in the restaurant. Good parking.

Cons:

Staff not particularly friendly. Must be the most expensive beer in Europe at 13euros for 50cl. Swimming pool open directly in front of restaurant during dinner.

Memorable for the wrong reasons!

Dinner was ok, service good. View was great.

Cons:

Give the customer the room he has paid extra for! Booked Family room with 3 beds, allocated standard with 1 double bed and a fairly narrow rollaway! The receptionist proceeded to argue that the room assigned was correct!
