We stayed here Mid May for a mini weekend break and loved it.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, has a really lovely pool area, incredible food and just has a really nice vibe to it.
Our room was lovely, a large balcony overlooking the pool and very clean and modern.
The pool was a bit chilly but it was May, plenty of sun loungers, a nice pool bar and can eat around the pool.
Location was a bit out of the way and the road closure at the end probably didn’t help any short cuts.
Reception staff were lovely and welcoming.
We will definitely return.
Not enough sunny area’s around the pool.
Noise from the road works although realise not your fault.
This is our 2nd stay at the Mecure Benidorm, and it’s been just as great as our first stay.
FOOD & DRINKS
We had bed & breakfast this time, as we found the evening food a bit limited during our last stay. Breakfast has lots of choice and always hit the spot. The pool bar offers various options throughout the day, including nachos, ceaser salad, chips. Ranging from 4€ - 14€ depending on what you order. The nachos are a good portion size and happily filled us up between two.
Husband was gutted they no longer had Mahu on tap, as he isn’t a Heineken fan. Beer options are limited at the pool bar is the only thing I will say. But great cocktail menu, and oat milk iced coffees.
LOCATION
Great location, short walk to the beach, old town and new town. There are road works going on very close to the hotel currently. Yes, they do create a lot of background noise, but not enough to “ruin my holiday” as some reviews have claimed.
ROOMS
Clean & tidy. Air conditioning and ceiling fan. Hairdryer included. Towels of various sizes and robes. Mini fridge is quite small, especially when trying to fit larger bottles of water in.
POOL
Great size, just what you need for a quick dip and cool off. We never struggled to find a sun bed. Some with the morning sun get snapped up very quickly, but we found the ones on the opposite side of the pool to have sun for longer once it had moved around.
We hired a Bali bed again this year. Highly recommend treating yourself to one during your stay! 50€ for the day, which includes a bottle of cava.
They will not let anyone ‘reserve’ sunbeds until 9am. Even after this time, if you have left your bed for longer than 30mins (lunch etc), they will remove your towels.
STAFF
Always friendly, always helpful. Honestly to cannot fault the staff.
Every thing was great 👍🏻
Nothing
Hotel full of stag and hen type guests at the weekend. Very rowdy and drunk at the poolside area, these guests took over the pool, making it impossiblefor guest to use due to their rowdy behaviour. Very loud, intrusive music, being played in the Garden and poolside area, can be heard on the 5th floor, through double glazing. Food average, never hot. Ice cream is excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean. This is our 5th time here at this hotel, but don't think we will return to Mercure Benidorm.
Lovely staff. Friendly and professional
Beautiful decor in bar and lounge
Very good food ( breakfast/ lunch/ dinner all tried and very good)
Hooks in shower ( for towel or bath robe) are too high. My mum is 5 foot and couldn’t reach them
No shower shelf to our own items on. Had to put on floor and keep bending down.
Not ideal for my 87 year old mum.
5 hangers supplied for 2 people. So inconvenient to have to phone immediately on arrival to ask for more and not be able to unpack straight away)
Also need hooks outside shower for bath robes in use.
No bedside drawers.
I prefer my medication to be out of sight.
And No drawers in room at all for personal items/ underwear etc.
Table on balcony poor as not a flat surface to stand a glass/ drink on ( wicker uneven surface)
Same issues last year, feedback given but nothing changed.
Small fixable issues that in my opinion would make such a difference.
In general the hotel is very good
Clean well presented and the breakfast is excellent
We went last year as two couples and decided as we enjoyed it to come back for five nights this June
Staff are all lovely polite and caring
Although I must say that the chilled atmosphere around the pool last year was on Friday and Saturday a bit ruined this year by 2 groups (15 to 20 in each) one English and one Spanish who were very loud and dominated the pool area
Heavily drinking (none ever went to the toilets all afternoon draw your own conclusions from that)
Ad I said though lovely hotel and staff but as you obviously admit stag type parties we won’t be returning
Luck of the draw really the next weekend could well have been fine who knows
As I said well worth a visit but possibly avoid weekends if you are looking for a relaxing poolside experience
Absolutely lovely hotel , staff amazing cannot fault it at all ,
The rooms are spotless the hotel team really care , thank you for your hospitality and looking after me and my friend .
Absolute quality Hotel staffed bt amazing people
Great hotel and location was perfect for old town, stayed b+b was very good and plenty of choice rooms very quiet pool was chilled and private the only thing I could fault was the the chairs on our balcony and the pool area were not comfortable will definitely book again.
