Lovely large room and high ceilings. Located close to old town and train station.
Could not use the swimming pool unless paid extra.

To use the spa, guests must pay an additional sum of £40, this is without treatments, and only for 90 minutes that seemed steep to me. I understand the need to book a space and limit numbers to enhance the experience but £40 for 90 minutes when you’re already resident seems too high to me and not good value for money.

Rooms were spacious, modern, housekeeping staff very helpful. Location great. The spa Radix package was excellent value for money, although the pool area is quite small, & very humid.
Breakfast restaurant, small & cluttered. The cereals, fruit, meats & cheese etc, all uncovered, out on display. ( flies also).Fruit was not very well presented, and 1 toaster for all is not good, a 5 star hotel & we get our own toast ! New to me that one !
If I stayed here again, which I wont, I prefer the Hilton in York, I would plump for room only.

Very slow service in Rise restaurant - 25 minutes before I got a drink let alone any food.
