The hotel was near to Ardleigh where we were visiting for a family party .
The room was clean and had everything we needed .
Reception staff were lovely and very helpful regarding check in and parking etc .
We travelled as a group of 9 plus our small dog .
There wasn't anything not to like .
Breakfast was a bit of a let down but we had been told the day before that there was a wedding party staying at the Hotel too so it wasn't a surprise .
The staff were very nice and breakfast was very good
Lack of staff in the evening - couldnt eat dinner at the hotel as tbey were quoting 1.5 hours which would be too late. Also lack of experience in the bar as beer pumps leaking and needed changing and no one knew how to sort it
The location was ideal for me and the staff were very friendly
Although meals were offered I thought the menu limited and there were no nearby locations to eat dinner

Convenient to get to
I checked in late evening and asked how I paid for parking. I was told if I was an IHG member this was free. I gave them my number, there was no mention of having to log into any computer system. I tried to confirm this on check-out but there was no-one on the reception desk. I subsequently received a £100 fine for failing to pay for parking!!! I appealed, sending details of my reservation and IHG number - this was rejected. BE WARNED

Clean, friendly staff, nice amount of parking. Excellent breakfast, the whole party really enjoyed. (4,6,9 years old children)

Paying for parking even as a customer.
To be honest absolutely nothing it was a terrible stay.
The room was so damp, the sheets and mattress damp and there was a smell in our room.
It was really disappointing.
The staff especially the morning of check out were unhelpful and had a strange attitude. We weren't from the area and needed help with a taxi and she told me to use uber- strange. Staff need training.
There was a difference in treatment that, to me, felt uncomfortably close to racism, I would choose to doubt it because accepting that reality feels difficult and unsettling.
There were two proper beds instead of a sofa bed that we were expecting.
