Coopmanhuijs is beautiful little gem of a hotel, with friendly staff members who help to make sure that their guests are well looked after during their stay. It is centrally located in Stellenbosch, making it easy to explore the town on foot. We hope to back soon!
We always love staying in this very central, cozy hotel. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our room at the back of the hotel which was quiet and comfortable. It was a treat to have a balcony to enjoy the sunshine.
I think the decor in the rooms could be updated.

The walls are a little thin so the bedroom can be a little noisy with other people in other rooms

The English breakfast was excellent.

Location for exploring Stellenbosch town excellent. Room ok. Bathroom very spacious. Bed warm, comfortable and quiet. TV bouquet perfect. Tennis, golf, news channels. Newspapers in bar area for a difference. Log fire in the lounge. Pool courtyard great if weather plays. Breakfast was 3 star. Staff attentive and courteous. Same day laundry service, appreciate.
Valet parking an effort however they did their very best.
Amazing hotel
Great central location in an historic building.
Room overlooked the glass diningroom so no view. Also, smells of burnt toast wafted up every morning from 7am. In addition room was next to some kind of staff room and you could hear talking quite clearly through the door linking the two. We booked a 2nd room for a family member, and even though it said King it was actually a Queen bed and they couldnt accommodate a move.

We booked a King room for a family member and were provided a Queen. The room had clearly been intended for someone else as the welcome letter was in another name too! They could not move us apparently as it was full. They gave us a nominal credit of $25 (R450) for the error but that didn't reflect the price difference shown on the website, which was about $70 (R1500). In addition we had to park in the street, even though they have offsite valet parking, which they was fine. Until we had a parking ticket on the windshield on departure. They wanted us to go to the courthouse to handle but we did not have time to do this.

Wonderful check-in experience with the car parking service. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast was a highlight !!
Everything, especially the staff

This was the fourth time I had stayed at the Coopmanhuijs. The staff are all incredibly kind and helpful. My room was well laid out and clean and tidy. The only slight criticism I had was that it overlooked a parasol below and therefore the view was obscured. There was always an excellent selection at breakfast and it was well presented. Dinner at Helena's was as excellent as ever. A varied menu, again well presented and with great service. Although I was a solo traveller I always felt safe as the hotel is in a central location and there was always someone outside the hotel making sure that I was never alone whilst waiting for a lift. Once again - Highly recommended
