A most pleasant stay in a well-located, art-filled, artful hotel with staff who went out of their way at every turn. They made you feel like this was your home, especially if you dream of gallery walls -- and they even blend their own whisky! The best Full Scottish Breakfast I have ever tasted. Will definitely return!
I would recommend this hotel without hesitation. The location is great, very handy for the City Centre and the Tram. The hotel is clean and well appointed and the rooms are individual and have character. I stayed in one of the cosy single rooms and it has everything a solo traveller requires. The design and layout is imaginative. The terrace garden is a delight in the summer. The rate was also extremely good value of the peak of the tourist season.
The hotel has a bright, fresh, and refreshing design. Every painting is unique and makes you want to stop and admire all the little details. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, and the location is close to the city center. The beautiful garden was a wonderful place to relax. The area is peaceful and quiet, with no noise at all.
Beautiful decor, friendly staff, comfortable room, great location and an excellent breakfast.
Nothing to dislike.
Best experience! Hotel was beautiful, fabulous customer service, rooms so well presented and immaculate, very tolerant barman and the best breakfast in the planet! So lovely to meet such a lovely team.
super location, green and silent area.. Nice rooms, and super frirendly staff.. Watch out if you dont' like stairs though..Choose a lower floor room... I would definetly would go back and stay...
From the moment we arrived, the staff were so attentive, informative and accommodating. I received local recommendations for food and things to do. We received a complimentary upgrade. Our bags were carried up to our beautifully presented room. You must sit in the garden for drinks, it is so tranquil. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay in the hotel for breakfast. I’m so glad I did! It was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experiences and not to mention absolutely delicious! I will most definitely be booking again. My friend who came with me is coming back this month. An absolute gem in the perfect location.
Nothing. My stay exceeded my expectations.
My husband and I have been to Edinburgh many times but this is the first time I have stayed at the same place twice. We can not find one single thing to fault this hotel, it is fabulous. It's in easy walking distance to the main centre within minutes, but you are also away from the hustle and bustle of Princess Street .The staff are all wonderful, so friendly, happy, kind and can not do enough for you. The hotel is very clean and well looked after. They think of everything for your room, a lovely fridge which actually keeps cool unlike most hotel fridges. Complimentary Still and Sparkling water, hot chocolate, a caffeine and shortbread biscuits, yummy 😋.
You even get an eye mask for sleeping, ear plugs plus there is hot water bottles in the room if you need them a fan and a thick blanket, like a said they think of everything.
I can not recommend the hotel enough, it's wonderful. 😊
Incredible location and the most lovely hotel!! Not only were the team super friendly and helpful (including the cutest dog), but the rooms were GORGEOUS.
The hotel is absolutely amazing: it's clean, beautifully decorated, the beds are so comfy and the breakfast was exceptional. Location is excellent, I walked to most places and it's such a lovely area! The staff were so kind and accommodating. I forgot some items at the hotel and they shipped them back to me very quickly! Will surely come back here, it made my visit to Edinburgh truly unforgettable.
My third visit. Absolutely superb. Eccentric artwork throughout the public areas adds a touch of class! Very friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast and a bar that is open 24 hours per day. Easy parking on the street or in a multi storey car park ten minutes walk away. The city centre is within walking distance.
Friendliness, walls covered in art, comfort, more than excellent breakfast.
The location was lovely close to city centre and main attractions but far enough away to feel like you weren't in the hustle. My room was a small single overlooking the garden. It was perfectly appointed with everything a traveller could want, sleep kit, 2 bottles of water still and sparkling and to my delight a thermal cafetiere with a bag of proper coffee so I could make my coffee early as I like and have two good cups before leaving my room! Added bonus of Marla the beautiful Merle Collie greeting me on arrival as a dog lover that made my day! Staff were very very friendly and made me feel relaxed and at home from the start. I would definitely stay again.
Perfect location and so beautiful. Highly recommend this accommodation
Room was clean, cozy and comfortable with everything I needed for a two-night stay. Breakfast options were filling and delicious. The hotel was beautiful with a variety of art, and was located on a quiet residential street with a nice garden out back. I was able to leave my key at the front desk for safe keeping while I was out for the day. The location is a walkable distance to most of the main attractions in the city. I also enjoyed that there were delicious non-alcoholic options at the in-house bar.
Staff were absolutely lovely and really attentive throughout my stay. I'll be back for sure if I find myself in Edinburgh again.
Gorgeous hotel with friendly staff; amazing breakfast.
The room was very nice but very small
I had small single room it was perfectly laid out great toiletries and extras and I LOVED having a cafetière and ground coffee available to start my morning plus 2 big bottles of still & sparkling water!
For me the artwork wasn’t my thing & if lots of people had been in bar late it would have been noisy it’s an old Georgian pile so not a lot you can do about soundproofing! Hearing doors & other guests.
