Great location, and easy to get to within the city.
Three major problems. Room was ready 30 minutes late and we weren't notified about it finally being ready--we had to go to the front desk. Second was the linens were stained in the room when we arrived, had to get them replaced. Third was that the AC didn't work in our room! We asked them to fix it while we were away and they didn't. We arrived in our room in the middle of the night with no working AC and had to change rooms.
The room we changed to was actually a downgrade from what we booked. We originally booked the sky suite, and we got downgraded to a standard room. I said we're fine staying there just to avoid changing rooms again as long as we're compensated for the downgrade. We got $100 in service credits and a late checkout as a result. A $250 value (with the late checkout being questionable) for a pretty expensive upgrade.
Overall, I wanted a relatively luxury experience in the city and we paid a relatively luxury price for it. What we got was a cluster of problems and a staff that seemed bound to enforce policy instead of help correct the issue.

Niet 100% verzorgd . Zwembad en dakterras niet gezien , dit was voor een "private party" afgehuurd de eerste dag van aankomst en in de morgen ook niet open ? de volgende dagen konden we er ook niet terecht ofwel nog niet open ofwel terug feest terras .... hopeloos en zeer teleurstellend. Buiten een af en toe de conciërge ,geen personeel gezien.... inchecken was digitaal ...
Modernhaus SoHo was a great spot. The location was excellent, property is in really good shape, and all personnel offered exceptional service. Great amenities (including a rooftop pool). We really enjoyed our stay, and will look to stay there again next time we visit NYC. Thanks!
We had an amazing stay recently! The was so helpful, accommodating and welcoming! The room was clean and spacious. We loved lounging by the pool and seeing the hotel transform from daytime to nighttime! A different scene at night and was enjoyable to watch! We highly recommend very family friendly as well!

The property has a very cool feel while being in a very stellar location. Close access to multiple subway lines, and walking distance to pretty much anything you’d need.
This was my second time staying at the property and the first time the staff was much friendlier. The rooms are in decent shape, but it’s unfortunate many are facing a giant construction site, and additionally several of the bathroom fixtures weren’t really working well - the shower leaked out of the sealed corner (not even counting where the pane of glass doesn’t connect to the wall) and the sink was extremely slow to drain. I think the biggest factor is that this is listed as a five star hotel, but this feels like a comfortable four. Everything was just “ok”, I think you’d have better luck booking at a really nice four star hotel and saving yourself some money.

From the moment I walked in, the staff at Modernhaus SoHo set the tone for the entire stay. Everyone I interacted with was genuinely warm, attentive, and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. It is rare to find a team that balances professionalism with real personality the way this one does.
The rooftop was absolutely stunning. The views over SoHo are hard to put into words — whether day or night, it is the kind of space you want to stay in for hours. The atmosphere up there felt effortless, and the whole setup matched the energy of the neighborhood perfectly.
My room was exactly what I hoped for. Clean, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail felt intentional especially the amenities they added for my wide and I. I slept better than I have in a long time. This is the kind of hotel that makes you look forward to coming back to the room at the end of the day.
