Comfortable room in a wonderfully historic building ten minutes walk from the Abbey
Pros:

Room was clean and comfortable with an unexpected and very welcome view towards the river and the open countryside. Staff were friendly, check in and check out was quick and efficient. For such an old building the bathroom had been given a modern makeover and the shower and bath were very good.

Cons:

It's a historic building so you know there won't be all the mod cons we have got used to - so no air con! But a fan was provided and the windows could be opened (albeit not very wide) so I was able to cool the room down.

Pros:

Very comfortable bed, nice bathroom (some re-grouting required), really effective double glazing. Excellent food and Wye Valley beers at reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. Peaceful at night in a rear room. Very historic hotel with fascinating history.

Cons:

Parking location (at the rear of the property) could be better publicised as could the fact that there are limited spaces

Great short stay, great breakfast. Staff all excellent with Carole one of the duty managers being exceptional .
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in an authentic Tudor style. Room was spacious and well appointed with a nice view.

Cons:

A tiny thing but whilst I support the no clean policy I would have liked my tea tray refreshing. Was done on day one when I asked but not the following day.

Great hotel, superb hospitality, shame about the heat.
Pros:

Staff were fantastic, very polite and helpful. Food also great. 10/10 for that

Cons:

No air con. Got put in room 208 and it was impossible to stay in it, ended up leaving a day early. Don’t think I’ve ever been in a room like an oven before.
