less noise in the night
Decor and feeling of the place
Our room (502) was lovely but the noise from the room above, people walking , sounded like the ceiling was coming down, conversation could be heard and whatever they did in the night could be heard
The bedroom was nice. Very comfortable. We asked for a room with a view from the bedroom window and we got a partial view of the river which was OK. Parking wasn't the easiest though we persisted and did manage to find a space at the rear of the hotel.
The bathroom was disappointing and needs to be modernised. It requires a walk-in shower. A shower over the bath is very old fashioned. Also, the bathroom was located on an upper level to the bedroom and having to walk up upstairs to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night isn't ideal.
Perfect location to explore the Tewkesbury area, being located on the High Street. This historic property looked very impressive from outside and the interior didn't disappoint. The spacious bedroom and ensuite was delightful with all amenities provided and staff were friendly and extremely helpful. There was an extensive selection for breakfast, with fresh fruit, pastries and cereal as well as a good choice of cooked breakfasts, all served in the spacious restaurant. The choice of evening meals too were plentiful and good value for money. An added bonus was being allowed to leave our car on the hotel car park following morning check out to enable us to walk to the beautiful abbey which is ten minutes away and explore Tewkesbury without having to re park elsewhere. We would certainly recommend The Tudor House hotel and would stay there again next time we visit the area.
Can't think of anything at all that we didn't like.
Lovely old building, very friendly helpful, staff.
Bed was huge, but not that comfortable.
Restaurant food was ok, but nothing special
From the moment that we booked our stay, The Tudor House Hotel's communication & customer service (as well as booking.com's) was excellent. Then, from the second that we arrived at the hotel reception, the hotel's team went out of their way to make us feel welcome & like very special visitors. We were staying there to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and the special touches, & extra warm wishes provided, certainly elevated the occasion for us. We loved the hotel setting & the garden area. The restaurant/bar was friendly & inviting & their live music on Sunday afternoon (James Pullen) made for an even more exceptional stay. Genuine thanks from us.
The little touches, like luxury bathroom toiletries, really do make such a difference. So many hotels can feel faceless & lacking personality. The Tudor House Hotel made a refreshing change.
