All told an excellent stay up to expectations
Pros:

Very comfortable and clean accommodation.
Good choice for the continental breakfast buffet and evening meals.
Very friendly, helpful, efficient staff.
Good choice of beverages at the bar at competitive prices.
Good location for the bus to Salisbury

Cons:

Whilst appreciating that this is a very old building the opening window in our bedroom did not fit properly causing a draught.
There are a lot of steps along the first floor landing which could be a problem for some people with disabilities.
The installation of a lift would be a major improvement to access the bedrooms.

Nice hotel. Good for a Stonehenge visit.
Pros:

Nice old hotel, close to Stonehenge. Several restaurants nearby and one in the hotel.

Cons:

My room faced the street and it was quite loud until after midnight with cars and people. Staff was fine but not great.

Nice hotel. Only thing is the doors are not that high. With 2 meters I hit my head multiple times. However the hotel is clean, friendly staff and overall just nice hotel to stay if you gonna visit the Stonehenge.

Een bijzonder historisch hotel met flair en charme.
Pros:

Bijzonder leuk historisch gebouw met late check-in; ruime parking; attent personeel. Het hotel is makkelijk te bereiken en ligt op een invalsweg van het dorp. Het gebouw werd recent gerenoveerd met kwaliteit en ademt geschiedenis. De indeling van de gemeenschappelijke ruimten op het gelijkvloers en de gebruikte materialen voor de afwerking zijn optimaal. Bonus is een gezellige en ruime ontbijtzaal en een ommuurd tuinterras achteraan.
Ondanks de ligging aan een verbindingsweg in het centrum rustig geslapen. Amesbury zelf is 's avonds eerder verlaten.
Deze staat op ons lijstje voor een volgend verblijf of op doorreis of voor een kort verblijf...

Cons:

Voor ons geen probleem, maar er is geen lift in het hotel; de trap is weliswaar goed gebouwd, maar kan voor oudere gasten mogelijks een probleem zijn.
