1 Sorte Wurst, 1 Sorte Käse u.a.
The location - with the views - is astounding.
The room was spacious.
The pool area was very clean and well presented.
There was no lounge or bar for guests to use - only the outdoor cafe (which closed early evening) and some sofas in corridors. The games room had no games.
Our room (superior double) had an unusual arrangement, with the bedroom separated from the balcony/view by another room, and the balcony having no furniture to sit out on. Also the shutters were broken and could not be left open in the wind.
The location is incredible with views of the mountains including Pico Grande and the villages of Curral das Freiras from all the bedrooms, restaurant hall and swimming pool. The staff were all smiley and helpful. Useful location for walks, we walked down the winding path to Curral das Freiras, where there are some great restaurants/ cafes. The hotel had a massive gift shop selling all the Madeira keepsakes and lots of T shirts. The hotel seemed popular with walkers.
The location of the hotel provided the fantastic views, however to get there you had to drive along a narrow winding narrow mountain road which became challenging when you met buses coming from the opposite direction.
Nice views, comfy bed and well kept rooms
Staff were very quiet and didn’t talk much. You also need to wear a cap in the pool and the menu for the dinner at the restaurant was hard to understand with not many options particularly for vegetarian. The doors of the hotel are locked overnight which was a problem as we wanted to do a sunrise hike at 6am and nobody was at the front desk to let us out. When we eventually got let out after half an hour, I needed to quickly pop back in as I forgot my bag but there was nobody around and we were then locked out. We rang the bell and knocked on the door but no response. I did the hike without my bag as nobody could let us back in and when we returned at 8am the door was then unlocked.
L’emplacement le Personnel très agréable
Rien du tout
The location is excellent, the view from the room is magnificent. There was always enough parking space. The room was cleaned every morning.
Breakfast had little choice, only one type of salami. They have a rule that breakfast is from 8am, not 7am, they probably charge extra for an earlier breakfast. There is not even a small fridge in the room.
Widok. Resturacja jest ok. Pokoj duzy .
Smierdzaca woda w jackuzzy, smieradzaca sauna parowa.
Amazing view ! Location are real hidden gem . Easy hike trail just around the hotel . Nice staff . Great spa area (included in price)
Tasty food (except tradirional Madeirian soup at restaurant 😅 that was a “scam”- didnt understand it was a joke or what . )
We really did enjoy this place ! 😇
Amazing location !
- Absolutely breathtaking location at every hour during the day and night - the sky is dark and full of stars. I spend a lot of time at balcony
- Parking at the evening full of space
- Staff is kind, smiling, very professional and helpful
- Extremely clean rooms everyday jesus christ
- Very quiet place during the night
- Gift shop & coffee bar is part of the hotel
- Big ass television screen
- Hot water flowing during the night
- Lots of sockets, useful for camera gear, powerbanks etc.
- Good coffee machine .)
- SPA is only open up to 7PM - this is not very efficient - i would like to go to the wellness after full day of hiking on the other side of the island. 11PM would be best time to close it.
- Larger trash bin would be more practical
- Breakfast choice was average at best, i would like to see more vegetables and more food options, i was missing some chicken etc.
Friendly helpful staff.
Excellent spacious room with spectacular views overlooking Nuns Valley. Very comfortable large bed and pillows.
Prachtige locatie voor uitzichten,
Niks te beleven in nabijheid. Spa is oud en stinkt.
Ontbijt is sober maar voldoende.
