Value for money midweek stay on Hoole Road, first choice for our next visit to Chester.
Pros:

The Location is good, very close to shops, restaurants and pubs in Hoole, only a 10 to 15 minute walk into Chester and a convenient local bus service. The room was clean, spacious, well furnished and modern fittings in the ensuite. The staff were polite and helpful.

Worth considering for a visit to Chester
Pros:

Clean, nice decor, friendly staff, nice room.

Cons:

The car parking was a nightmare. Very tight area for several cars, and whichever space you tried, it was hard to get into and even worse to get out.
Only continental breakfast was included - if you want scrambled egg on toast it’s £7 extra, and full English is £9 extra. Per person.
Very limited time to check in - only 3pm to 5pm.

Not our first visit, and certainly not our last.
Pros:

Everything was great, wish all hotels were like this. Staff are wonderful. Room was large enough, comfortable and clean.
Breakfast is fantastic, they even catered for my partner who takes a ketogenic diet and myself who is a very fussy eater.
Great places to eat dinner literally round the corner. Nothing was too much trouble, the answer was invariably - "Yes, we can". Free parking too.

Cons:

Honestly it would be very nitpicking to find anything. Room didn't have a bath, just a (very good) shower, but we knew that when booking and it was not a problem.

Convenient and comfortable
Pros:

Perfect location for our purposes. Tastefully decorated.

Cons:

No socket within stretching distance of a mirror to use the hairdryer, room 4.
Felt the staff were a bit stretched serving breakfast at the weekend so quite slow but no major issue.

Nice stay with parking
Pros:

Easy parking and good location. Easy 25 min stroll to Chester centre but good pubs nearby.
Sparkling bathroom - a credit to whoever cleans the rooms.
Good continental breakfast but you need to pay extra for a cooked meal

Cons:

13.5 tog duvet too warm for September but this is quite common and we were prepared for this.

Nice place but overall breakfast situation a bit disappointing.
Pros:

The location was good ans set in a nice quiet location.

Cons:

I was surprised that I could only have the continental breakfast unless I payed more. I dont think this was clear to me from the booking.com site. We had a pastry and it was a bit dry. Also no one on reception when we arrived.

Placed perfectly for meandering around Chester!
Pros:

The staff were amazing and it’s perfectly located for walking into town. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy with lovely en-suite. We booked a super-king bed. There’s a little fridge in the room with a bottle of water, a kettle and coffee machine. The breakfast was yummy, but we are a little boring and had porridge. Couldn’t resist the homemade banana bread, but hey, we’re on holiday! Plenty of options for breakfast. Parking is available there, which is great too. So many great restaurants. Take your pick! Lovely and peaceful too.

Cons:

The shower head could have been fixed on the wall. Only a small observation! Plus I would advise asking the number plates of the cars that correspond to the rooms. The reason for this is that some guests clearly have trouble parking, or are thoughtless. That way you can identify the culprit and help others.

Room for improvement
Pros:

Good location with parking space which was great. Helpful and friendly staff……

Cons:

The room was spacious but very dark. The fridge in the room was totally inadequate which was disappointing. Our two night stay was not cheap so we felt the full English breakfast should be included in the price.

A short stay in Chester
Pros:

Stone Villa is a small boutique hotel. The rooms are well appointed. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom includes a bath and shower. There is parking on site for your car in the marked bay for your room. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. We needed more coffee capsules as the machine in the room is not the standard nespresso capsule and the staff were only too happy to provide extra coffee capsules. The hotel is located near to the city, but it is only 20 minutes walk. Breakfast was included in our booking. The fruit used for breakfast was fresh.

Cons:

The breakfast was highly rated by others - but be warned if you are not a fan of a full English Breakfast or Eggs, then the selection is not as extensive. On the last day we asked for toast - we were given one slice each with only butter. I suspect that the staff are not used to people who stay at the hotel that ask for different breakfasts.
